Seeing how other people are not likely to embrace anything involving the use of index cards, these plans of mine for randomization walkthroughs have just helped me figure something out.

From now on, in anything I play, whenever I decide to shop around, instead of subtracting anything I dip below price for, I should just retain everything, and if I happen to select any such thing, maybe raise money for it within reason and let that be the last thing I plan out for the session, or else just end said session right then and there. This would help me not only to simplify things, but also to preserve money for my next shopping session, along with item space in games like Earthbound where that's limited. (Exceptions would apply for the last session of a given game, when saving money would be a moot point.)

Seeing how I included my way of shopping and described my different sessions in my Mother 3 walkthrough, this might be reason for another actual playthrough of that when I revise said walkthrough after reading through the player's guide. (Too late to change anything for my Mother 1 walkthrough, although in that game, I only ever apply it in Magicant, where it's pretty much justified.)

With that, I think I'm going to give Star Ocean a rest now. Already started a new game about five times, getting only as far as Purgatorium, and it's already been several weeks since I got the game for Christmas. Right now, I am probably going to work a bit each day on THIS IS IT! before going on to try out Persona 2: Innocent Sin.
