Jan. 7th, 2020 05:31 amGrandma died at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Everything had lined up just the right way beforehand for me to say a few last things to her.
Yesterday morning, we had a really important appointment in Stonybrook at around 10. Before we went, though, I started writing up my Christmas thank-you to her, and I'm glad I had thought of prioritizing her before everyone else. We had to leave, though, before I got to finish it up.
Showed Mom when we came back home, and then after finishing up, and she took a picture of it with her iPad and shared it with everyone. Dad read it to Grandma while she was still alive.
Mom also decided not to bother returning to Virginia. That turned out to be for the better, as well as my decision not to come down with her when she originally planned to, because she would have still been in the car by the time Grandma died. (Dad, on his part, is going to fly back here on his own.)
