Oct. 4th, 2021 06:53 amWent to Aunt Allison's two days ago.
Stopped for lunch at this place Mom and Dad had been to recently called Baja Burrito during the ride there. I got a Mexican street taco and some chicken tenders.
Allison and Grandpa Bob were both at the house, and Brian and Emily arrived at the house shortly after we did.
Yesterday morning, we got up early to have breakfast at this other place Mom and Dad had been to (can't remember the name) on the rest of our way to Grandma Ella's new house for her birthday. We arrived there at 10, the time I normally eat lunch, and the place was so crowded that Mom was put on hold for half an hour and considered just leaving so that we wouldn't be "late" to Grandma's. Dad said he didn't care what time we arrive there, and we ended up just waiting for our call.
Everyone else made their way to the house, and along with Blas, who arrived at Allison's the previous night, we also got to see Uncle Robby, Cousins Dennis and Steven, their wives Monique and Jordan, Adrian, Medina, and Steven and Jordan's new daughter Venice.
While it was chilly first thing in the morning, it got rather warm mid-day, and I had to change into some shorts and one of several t-shirts that I hadn't worn in a while. Noticed a multi-colored sock on the bathroom floor, and assumed it was Grandma's, but then Mom came out and thanked me for finding what had actually been missing for months now, also saying that it was a good thing I didn't change in the restaurant restroom, lest I fail to notice it. I told her that I actually did notice it and would have picked it up if I had changed there.
Too full from breakfast to bother having much food at the house, but any opportunity for some chocolate chip pancakes is worth anything. Ended up having a long nap on Grandma's bed.
Upon waking up, I noticed her cat having wandered into the room, and gave her the obligatory squeeze on both cheeks. Let Grandma know, and she asked if she scratched me, which she did during said hug. She told me never to touch her belly because she once had surgery there, and I'll be sure to remember that for next time we visit her.
Arrived back home at 8:30 last night. Saw various things during the drive home, such as three hot-air balloons somewhere in New Jersey and someone speeding down the Long Island Expressway HOV lane on a motorcycle, listened to various songs mostly from the '50s through '70s, and I went straight to bed after helping Mom unpack the car. Woke up this morning to a whole bunch of messages, but nothing particularly noteworthy.
