Jan. 5th, 2023 05:48 amSome months ago, Dad had some argument with the receptionist at the landfill, and was told upon leaving not to come back.
Just yesterday, Mom and I started loading the branches I clipped from that log into the pickup, and we were allowed in just fine. That saves me the trouble of fitting all that stuff into garbage cans.
The two of us made a total of three trips there. On the third, after having failed to find a cane for Dad at the Savers store near us, she decided to drive to the store near Costco to find one. I decided while we were on our way there to get myself a mocha in Costco.
When we got there, I noticed some kind of line that I assumed at first to be for showing membership cards, but after what seemed like 5-10 minutes, it turned out to be for customer service.
Mom had told me to come straight back to the truck upon getting my snack, so I instead got a sundae (just ice cream in a plastic cup), since a mocha would be more likely to spill inside a moving vehicle and would get all watery by the time we got back home. Ate the whole thing near the truck, and then looked for Mom inside Savers. After several laps around the store, I finally spotted her, and she told me she was looking for me inside Costco.
(Would've helped if I had my phone on me, but obviously, that seemed redundant when it originally seemed we were just gonna hit the landfill together and come straight home. I'm sure Mom would've already had hers in case we needed to call home for any reason.)
She still wasn't able to find a cane, but I did find a sweatshirt with the kind of fabric I want to replace my current one to sleep in. It was a small, but at least now Mom knows what to look out for whenever I'm not with her.
