Apr. 20th, 2023 06:27 amGot back to the ivy patch yesterday, continuing by canning some branches I sawed down the other day, and then digging out the remains of a rusty pole that used to display our address number. At one point, I hit what turned out to be a tree root, and got the ax out to chop that off where it both entered and exited the hole.

Got a call from the Town of Brookhaven, for a seasonal park maintenance position. I was told upon expressing interest that I would receive another call once the person on the other end ran things past several others.
I had been told that the job would pay $15/hr, five days a week full-time. If I land this, that would be $600/wk, translating into thousands over the course of four months and way more than compensating what I started losing last year.
-----
Mom had a prescription to pick up at Sam's Club, and I came with her to order a pepperoni slice and a brownie sundae for dinner and dessert respectively.
Ordering a pretzel as well turned out not to be such a hot idea alongside an already salty slice of pizza. I was given a choice between salt and cinnamon, went with salt, and might get cinnamon next time, although that would be basically the equivalent to a churro at Costco.
