Apr. 23rd, 2023 07:44 amThe woodcutters finally came yesterday, sawed up that log along with one that's been rotting for years, and also cut down another tree.
Just after the first two segments I chopped up into pieces, Mom offered me a ride to Savers, and I took her up. She told me that Dad was actually planning on disposing of all that wood, since we should have plenty of wood for next winter and he didn't want to give me more work for which he'd have to pay me. I argued that we should keep it around if it would make good firewood, and we soon reached an agreement that I split it all up as a late birthday or early Father's Day gift instead. (Would also benefit me in the long run, to have less work next fall; this is a better time than any to tie some of that in while Starbound is already on hiatus.)

Finally received something on Upwork for Ozzy to test out. From what he went on to tell me, it failed to compress some of the files he had given me, but he is impressed overall with what it did accomplish so far.
Once this finally goes through, I might ask freelancer Vadim Zubrilov if he is familiar with ROMhacking in general, before letting him work on either Earthbound Zero or Super Mario RPG. (Still not reopening the floodgates until I have a job.)
