Jun. 12th, 2023 05:53 amWhile Brian and Emily remained at Emily's parents' house for most of the day, Marie and Drew were the first ones to arrive here yesterday afternoon. They came up into the apartment where I was, and we chatted for a bit, mostly about my new job.
Aunt Marie, Uncle Ray, Cousin David, and Polly arrived not too long thereafter. I was putting that copy of The Week back in our mailbox, after noticing a note that Mom got around to attaching to it, and upon coming back, David gave me volume 1 of this manga called That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, something Aunt Marie mentioned him watching the anime of last time she was here.
I then came to join him, Ray, and Dad in the dining room where they were talking about stuff (Marie was in the kitchen chatting with Mom), and told them about my recent accomplishment.
Hung around from there, and eventually asked David if he had ever gotten around to watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica, which I had told him about before and later sent him one of my DVDs of the film trilogy adaptation. He said some stuff that included said DVD still sitting beside his computer. He then pulled up Crunchyroll on his phone, and tried to show me the anime of that other series, but the "dub" seemed to have been in Spanish somehow. I told him that I normally prefer to watch stuff on a TV or computer anyway.
Once almost everyone left, I asked him if he'd like to go up and watch anything. He agreed, and while he supposedly set me up with his Crunchyroll account (I later noticed no password displayed), I set him up with Madoka, just to catch him up with Marie, Drew, and Aunt Marie there. (Everyone is at different points with Kanon and I probably wouldn't want to have to play a given episode of something twice in one visit, although David might need to see a sample of that show to see if it's up his alley.)
Following Madoka, David suggested I put on Reincarnated, and we watched that show's first episode before heading back down.

With everyone here, we all ate together at the dining table, and Mom set her radio up for background.
For dessert, Mom and I debated whether or not to present this variety cheesecake that she doesn't usually let me pick out for a snack. I argued that Emily might miss out on that (Brian can't normally have dairy, but Mom told me he can have cream cheese), but she said they're probably not gonna care, and that I should be allowed to choose after having just accomplished such a major undertaking as these past three months, and I went with that.
Brian actually did come by while we were having it, although Emily wasn't with him. I took a second slice before letting him take one.
