And things went from bad to worse yesterday.

Two days ago, Brian suggested I basically do some of the same stuff I had already done with Mom a few days prior. I told him yesterday that, but also mentioned running both a full scan and an offline scan, neither of which turned anything up, and asked him if he thinks of anything in particular to try out. He then asked if I did what he suggested, and I sought some tips out on YouTube.

One video in particular actually showed me where the culprits would be, where it would even be spelt out, but then went to some other stuff like command prompts instead of anything to try directly on the offending programs. It ended with opening up the unit itself to check for dust or any kind of physical damage, and as I was typing something back to Brian, he, too, suggested I open it up to blow out.

So I unscrew two parts of the frame, blow it out with the air hose in the garage, and not only is that thing a bitch to put back together, but when I settle for putting some remaining screws into a glass to deal with later and hook the machine back up, my monitor doesn't even detect it even though the computer's own light is on.

Mom did manage to help me reassemble it properly after arriving home from work, but we were still unable to display anything, and she concluded that something might've happened to an internal connection.

At Brian's advice, I gave it to her to pack up, and we brought it to UPS to ship back to him for repairs.

And now, I'm stuck with my old computer and my laptop, although I will probably invest in a VGA/HDMI adapter that I found on Amazon for $8, once Mom comes home and can have a look at that, at least so that I can view stuff on my normal monitor again.
