Mom brought it up with me this morning after bringing breakfast up to me (instead of calling me down, since Dad is sick right now), and then did some googling about it. She seems to gather that graphics cards might have something to do with it.

Finished volume 1 of Magical Girl Raising Project yesterday.
No surprise that only several parts of the story were given more detail than in the anime, while others were glossed over (including such relevant parts as La Pucelle's fight with Cranberry or Fav's demise).
(I had also read on TV Tropes about Sister Nana secretly asking Magicaloid 44 for such dangerous circumstances for Weiss Winterprison to save her from, particularly their encounter with Calamity Mary; it says the anime left that out, but the same page also states that LN-Magicaloid is only introduced shortly before dying, long after said encounter.)
