Sep. 5th, 2023 06:45 amTo elaborate further from yesterday's entry, Mom told me that Dad found himself in some kind of pain at 1 AM, and it was well into the morning when they came home. (It was 3 when she first texted and emailed me; suffice to say, I was still asleep at that time.)
Around midday, I decided to give Brian a call, partly to test my phone battery again, but also to see if he had sent back my main computer, after having gotten a couple of text messages this past week about some kind of delivery failure. Turns out he was at Marie's and getting ready to head back.
Early on, he elaborated on how Marie injured herself, saying that she had broken her upper arm, what's known as the humerus. I commented that that's also what's known as the funnybone, and he told me he never knew what people mean by that up until then, and also that it actually hurts for her to laugh.
A short while later, Mom came up with some tea just shortly before he put me on speakerphone to say hi to Marie (Drew barely said anything), and then I turned on my own speakerphone to allow Mom to start speaking to him. Marie didn't talk for much longer, and they both turned the feature off at different points.
Turns out Mom had come up to tell me that she might have to bring Dad to the hospital in Manhattan; she ended up specifying that to Brian as well, although she did state hoping not to have upset Marie with the whole story.
Phone was on 93% when the call finally ended. Glad to see that doing much better now.
Sure enough, though, they did end up going half an hour later, and have had to spend the night there.
