Oct. 1st, 2023 07:32 amNoticed yesterday that that computer Brian recommended did not have an HDMI port. Mom and I spent half the day looking for a model compatible with an Omen NVidia G-Sync monitor, before eventually consulting Brian.
I then found out that the actual problem with that adapter I bought is that analog output cannot be converted to digital, meaning that it was actually a one-way combination to begin with.

Brian told me that HDMI and DisplayPort are interchangeable. Mom had me look for such an adapter after I ran that past her, and along with one less item sitting in a white plastic pouch that Mom found the other day in my bedroom, that actually did enable the use of my big monitor again.
With that, she went on to order that computer from Back Market instead of Amazon, since she finds that to be more reliable somehow. (The confirmation email says it should arrive between the 6th and 10th.)
