Feb. 9th, 2024 07:01 amWith Marie and Aunt Marie occupying the apartment for now, I do not have the option right now to face the couch, which Mom and I turned around to face the TV, back towards my computer and continue recording Earthbound. Took yesterday morning to read Magical Girl Raising Project while waiting for everyone to wake up.
Aunt Marie was the first one up. While she and Dad watched some stuff together, I suggested she and I watch something other than Kanon for this visit, lest Marie walk in on us and join in after Drew already asked her not to watch more of that show without her. Suggested Nyanko Days, since they had already seen that, and Popotan, which they ware "lukewarm" to (Marie's word of choice), although I did mention the latter having the kind of sexual innuendoes that I've already known Mom to tolerate just briefly at a time. (She did ask me to fast-forward through the risque bits, which I already do for Mom with anything prolonged.)
Also asked her if she'd like to eat at Friendly's during this visit, and we all agreed upon that day, but it wasn't until around 1:30 that we'd actually eat out, since Brian had to put Maris to sleep a short while before Mom came home from work.

Did some more reading while awaiting everyone, during which Mom texted me to ask if maybe Aunt Marie would prefer to eat at Chipotle's. Brian also happened to have concluded a nap of his own, and was sitting on the couch talking to her. I brought it up, and Brian also suggested this other Mexican place called Lucia's, but it still didn't take long for us to reach a consensus back on Friendly's.
Mom did come home during our discussion, and Maris did wake up, but the former still had an errand to run before Marie and Aunt Marie could take her car instead of jamming in with me, Brian, and Maris in Brian's SUV.
For this visit, I ordered a CoolRanch chopped-cheese burger, some adult mac 'n' cheese, and some hot cocoa instead of strawberry lemonade this time, since Charley's already serves that, and then a Reese's peanut butter cup Friend-Z. The waitress told me that anything with Doritos, which that burger contains, comes with a "happy ending", which is a free but rather simple sundae. Brian and Marie had each ordered a Monster Mash sundae from the kids' menu, and Aunt Marie took my happy-ending and requested some vanilla ice cream with hot fudge.

Emily eventually came over, and at some point, Mom had to abandon some batter she meant to make crumpets with to get Dad treated for a blood clot. Marie asked me what that show from Greenport was that I wanted to show Aunt Marie, Nyanko Days, and Brian managed to find Crunchyroll right on the TV down here in the house.
Being so used to watching stuff either by myself or just with Mom (and things were a lot more orderly even before in California), things got awkward as we watched along, with me putting the show on hold whenever Brian or Emily was off doing something else while still listening (Japanese-only audio not helping) and Brian or someone else urging me each time just to treat it as background instead of the point, when we're all together mainly to socialize as opposed to specifically following along. Case in point, before I'd let episode 8 run, Brian went to spend a good few minutes in the bathroom, long enough that that became the one episode he missed when I finally did play it; he declined on letting me replay it just for him, and then Emily went to play Maris right where the TV faces away from, and missed all four remaining episodes.
Our parents came home right in the middle of the last one, but Mom let us just watch the end, with only one minute left.

As of this morning, I have just finished Magical Girl Raising Project: Limited, not just to pass time for anyone to wake up, but because I was already nearing the end and felt I might as well just wrap it up.
Technically, I do have The Week yet to read, which I sort of forgot about after having already mostly completed the crossword, but, no point reading old news.
For tomorrow, I already re-purchased the Android version of Marenian Tavern Story yesterday, for the specific purpose of re-enacting something for my next video, since second to Star Ocean, that game had no small part to do with why I seek ROMhacks in general, something I intend to explain before I showcase all those changes so far to Earthbound.
(On that note, I have asked Affonso to put that game on hold for until I finish recording Earthbound, since I had no reason to expect him to change anything so quickly as he had. Also asked him if he'd be interested in one of my priority games, and managed to set him up with one of the remaining changes to Earthbound, after he expressed interest in at least trying his hand.)
