Feb. 14th, 2024 07:37 amMarie and Aunt Marie left two days ago. Mom had to drive them to the airport, and I originally had a bus scheduled to take me to work, but was able to cancel that with Dad still around to drive me.
-----
First thing that day's shift, Cecilia had me sign a form regarding a lunch break I took just three minutes early on the 30th. Promised her not to cut "close enough" before clocking out for lunch.
-
Saw a flock of five turkeys wander across the parking lot shortly before leaving, and then early yesterday's shift.
-
Yesterday snowed, and I wore a blue pair of rubber boots Mom had gotten me, along with my rain pants and rain coat.
Even through a thick pair of socks, the backs of my heels scraped against the insides of my boots, and I had to take out two pairs of in-soles that Mom had put inside, and then get some band-aids from customer service.
Took my rain gear off for lunch, just so I could eat comfortably. Trying to put it back on after concluding my break, one of the buttons on my rain pants peeled off while I tried to connect the overall, and I decided just to lock it up, especially since my pants had already been soaked here and there even through them.
-
I had gotten a roast beef sandwich, a slice of chocolate cake, and a strawberry Nesquik for lunch just a few after 11:00, and realized at 11:50 that I had forgotten to pay for it all. Went to customer service, and also mentioned to Greg, a store manager with a separate office from Doreen and Rich, while he passed by and brought an issue back up that I had left him a note about earlier (that still took a while to get down to). The lady there asked me for some kind of number for each product, and I went around to collect the same three things to show her, and was able to pay her in cash before returning them and clocking back in at 12:01.
-
Two days ago, I spotted two slightly warped Pokemon cards (Simisage and Tatsugiri) and some kind of action figure (similar actually to a gachapon figure, of some female knight of sorts) inside a cart, and brought that one solo to the store before bringing those three things to customer service.
Yesterday, I spotted a pumpkin with a hole where the stem would be, and brought that over to the woods, hoping to smash it against a tree. Did manage to knock some snow off a branch, though.
-
Regarding what I brought up with Greg, the latch on the righthand cart bay's shutter is always stuck whenever someone else hasn't already opened it. How anyone else has managed time and again to open it is beyond me, but I would originally hammer it open with the gate's lock, and then later decided upon a mallet from tools and hardware.
Yesterday, the rubber grip was slightly untucked, and I ended up cutting a mark into it before tucking it back on and then bringing it up at first with customer service. That's when I was instructed to bring it up with Greg, whose office was open but unoccupied, which is when I left a note.
Addressing my failure to pay for anything w/ CS was when I saw Greg passing by and asked him if he got my message.
Came back to his office after clocking back in, but he was having lunch then and asked me to give him a few minutes to get back to me. Agreed to meet at Charley's to discuss the issue, but shortly thereafter, while I didn't want to be all over him, I didn't want to seem like I was slacking off either, and found his office empty again.
And it took another few hours for me to be able to address things with him, with him either getting sidetracked again (he did have to shovel some snow and put down some salt melt) or out of reach somewhere.
We did get around to it, though, he did offer to try applying some WD-40, I went on to run that chain issue on the other side past him, and he thanked me for bringing it all up with him.
