Jun. 5th, 2024 07:43 amYesterday morning, Mom had cooked a whole panful of corned beef hash, mainly for Dad to take however much he wanted. Can't remember the reason she stated later for not having texted me before she'd leave the house, but I had already had some oatmeal shortly after waking up, before discovering what was left over shortly before heading out to work and having some of that.
Later on, after a doctor's appointment had run late, Mom texted me that she was ordering a sausage pizza at Dad's suggestion, stating when I asked that pepperoni is too salty for him. Along with having basically had breakfast twice, I had just had a filling lunch like the other day, consisting of a hero, a cheese Danish, and a large caramel mocha, so I wasn't that hungry anyway. We agreed just to let her buy him a personal pie, but also to order half-and-half from now on.

Two nights ago, a car crashed into the phone pole across the street from our driveway. I only heard the impact, noticed the police lights out of one window while coming down to use the bathroom, and was too tired to bother seeing what was going on.
Upon picking me up from work yesterday, Mom explained what happened, and told me that the power had gone out on that side of the street but not ours. Upon arriving home, we could see that a new pole has been installed, although LIPA has yet to transfer the wires over.
