Three days ago, I found a $5 bill strewn somewhere in the parking lot.

The next day, Dad was asleep at a point when he's normally awake, and I ended up waiting half an hour after boiling some tea for him before reminding him again to wake up to bring me to work. He also asked to hold onto me while coming down the front steps, probably feeling weak due to some kind of operation.

Someone asked me later where the flatbed carts are, and I gave him some directions. Moments later, I noticed him packing some boxes into two regular carts, asked if I could help out with them, and he asked me to go get him a flatbed. Made my way across the store to get one, and by the time I came back, he had already returned his goods to customer service, but did give me a $3 tip for going through the motions there.

And at the end of that shift, Mom asked me to pay for some groceries she needed because she forgot her wallet, and asked me to arrange a bus then for today in case Dad still isn't feeling well by now (I was tired and had only concluded my shift less than 30 minutes earlier, whereas her workday ends several hours earlier, giving her ample time to come home for a nap and some tea before said shopping).

I arranged a bus yesterday morning for 8:45 today, but would later cancel it with Mom's permission after Dad specified holding onto me merely as a precaution.

Had off from work yesterday, and we're almost done moving those logs out. Managed to load four onto the trailer, and upon flipping over what was a joint, I heard a couple of times what sounded like the second half of the sound a squeaky toy makes when you squeeze it. Turned out to be four baby bunny-rabbits, which I initially mistook for rats and jumped back but identified properly right before they all dispersed.

Went inside and told Dad about it, and as soon as he finished watching something, we went out and put a different log on before we drove them to the landfill.

Having brought my phone down to take a picture that Mom requested (in this case, to verify which sausages I had brought up earlier at her request), I ended up settling other things with her during our errand.

In particular, for days now, I had been finding myself somehow short on socks and boxers*, Mom and I had also been talking about getting a new pair of shoes, and we originally planned on getting everything at Costco yesterday, where I could also get myself a cookie for lack of any at-home snacks (at least until Mom later offered me some iced banana bread with tea that I had forgotten all about). Then we agreed upon Sunday, when I get off at 3:30 instead of 6 or 6:30. (Also asked Mom for some cash to break for one more single for the bus, after having paid for her groceries the day prior.)

Eventually, I received a new pair of shoes delivered from Marie, who had already asked for my shoe size, and we also managed to gather all my socks and boxers together upon folding several combined loads of wash, part of which I had brought down (plus some more socks in my old top dresser drawer, where Mom actually thought my boxers would be).

(*I do have another kind of underwear, but boxers somehow seem more appropriate to have on with just a t-shirt (and at least that) at night or early morning during the summer.)

So now, she's free just to pursue Costco on her own today, although I probably should show her at some point what that cookie looks like, since she offered to bake that herself for me.

During teatime, among other things on YouTube, my parents checked out this clip about a type of fly whose larvae people drop over Panama every week. At one point, it mentioned sterilizing them beforehand, which I then mentioned reading a question about on my midterm or final exam for 10th grade biology, which had also mentioned another control method that did not work so well (something they developed an immunity to, I think?).

Even though Costco is no longer an issue, Mom did text me last night that she had put that money on the kitchen counter in the house. That should save me one more receipt to hold onto before I deduct what I've spent in debit on meals et al.
