Received A Little Snow Fairy Sugar on DVD in the mail yesterday, and Mom and I left Popotan off from episode 4 to start watching that.

Just the other day, I had written a short google doc before starting my shift, as to why I like brunette girls so much, after finding myself wondering what was so special about it with characters like Siela and Kamerina from Adventure Bar Story, and especially when seeing either grown men or unsavory characters with that hair color makes it feel less special (at least someone like War Nurse is mostly good; despite torturing people (only enemies), she does also talk to Asuka about wanting to help others, which she had already demonstrated by healing an injured civilian). Somehow, it seems to root itself even more in Saga, from when I originally watched the show in 2008, than in Mai from Makeruna! Makendou, or either of my female protagonists of choice for Unwilling Service, from the same timeframe, even though those were both much more relevant for a lot longer.

(Funny, how I actually thought more of Vivienne (blonde/pink-haired) than Silk (normally brown, white in transformation) from Ultimate Girls for a short while after watching that concurrently. Also funny how I led Sugar up rather directly with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, starring a brunette all-around jerkass, before gradually associating brown hair with Saga's much better nature (aside from avoiding Greta at every turn in episode 1, although Greta does sort of express superiority with her approach to show her a new watch).)
