Sep. 1st, 2024 04:54 amBrian and Emily came over yesterday for a week-long visit some time before I arrived home from work. They were in the frontyard watching Maris walk around, now that she's recently learned how, and I joined Brian on the lawn bench to chat for a bit before heading upstairs.

Last night after having gone off to bed, I overheard Emily watching something where someone offers to lead someone else somewhere through the woods. At first, I thought the former was planning to kidnap them or something, but then they started talking about goblins, at one point even mentioning a type of "magic shoes" that they wear. Came down to use the bathroom, and it turned out to be Little Bear, which she was showing Maris on her phone.
To say nothing of Maris, too bad I can't feasibly show Goblin Slayer to Emily, what "real" goblins are like (the reason the eponymous character kills them).

I have just changed this blog's skin to Aged Wine. With Brian and Emily sleeping up here, I was originally looking to set my blog to some kind of dark mode, so that I could leave it up for them without having it shine white on them, but then I discovered this site's skin catalog, generated a random integer online between 1 and currently 1,146 (12 skins per page by default, times a current 128 pages in total, minus 6 since the last page features 6) and got 21.
