Sep. 7th, 2024 06:17 amShowed Jonathan yesterday's entry after having already shown him the previous one and the few others to date also covering the topic of brunette girls. We ended up chatting for more than an hour about stuff not related to our ongoing deal, such as Dad's condition and my job.

Whlie using the bathroom, I thought I heard Dad and Marie watching Ozzy Man. Came out, and it turned out to be a Family Guy gag where Peter and his friends see a commercial for "Outback Steakhouse Extreme":

I then brought up how Outback Steakhouse proper, as I learned on Wikipedia, despite being Australia-themed, actually serves American cuisine. Dad asked what Australian cuisine even is, as if to say there is no such thing. For starters, Pavlova cake, despite being named after a Russian celebrity of some sort, is said to have originated in Australia. (Along with having a Food Soul representing it in Food Fantasy, it is also the favorite food of one of the protagonists of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, an anthropomorphic kangaroo named Garoo.)
The other thing I mentioned was tomahawk steaks, but here is something I mentioned about that on my tasklist:
Actually goes by various names in different cultures. Wikipedia specifies this as a “rib steak”, and “tomahawk steak” is just one of two of its British names and multiple American names, while Australians themselves know it simply as a “ribeye”. Australia is simply where this type of steak’s popularity began. (Food Fantasy’s international translation says that it originated with the Algonquins (the original Chinese description simply says “parts of Australia”), but that’s a Canadian tribe, so that must be a mistranslation.)

Instead of going directly back to California, Marie had planned on hitting Brian's house to see Maris first.
Shortly before we drove her to the ferry, I offered to put that Muppet Show clip on for Marie and Dad, of Stayin' Alive by The Bee Gees:

For lunch, Mom brought us to this Italian diner called Lombardi's Love Lane Market, where we got a couple of paninis and sodas. I got a sandwich with breaded chicken, tomatoes, mozzarella, and pesto, and for a drink, I picked out some green tea soda. Also got a container of three canolis, since Mom encouraged me to get something to share around while I was looking at desserts.
We didn't eat there, but Marie and I decided to wait until we were at the ferry station to actually eat. We ended up parking near Gardiner's Bay to eat.

With Marie out of the apartment, I have managed to move most of my stuff back up there and return to the loft to sleep.
