Jan. 17th, 2025 05:59 amThe other afternoon, Nancy left a small pot of beef stew on our doorstep. Only Mom had that, because I wasn't interested in the peas mixed in or the mushy baby carrots; I instead had some chili and rice.
I thought that would be a one-time thing, but on our way home from dropping a few things back at the library last night (including Welcome to the NHK, which I couldn't renew online because someone else was awaiting that), she told Mom during a text exchange about some chicken cutlets she was making.
She eventually brought that over to us, and we gave her a box of custard tarts as thanks. Mom put together some salad from a kit to slice and top the chicken over for her share (I took my pieces whole to have with rice and a side salad), and found it to be much more tender than she was ever able to prepare. She later asked Nancy for the recipe, and also sent me over to give her a salad kit to try such chicken over.
