Thanks to a certain trailer for a certain animated movie that Chelle linked to, curiosity got the better of me today, and I decided to see how disturbing Magical Girl Control Act really is.

I first found out about MGCA months ago when Jake told me about a fic he's basing upon it. He told me that the whole thing was originally just an excuse for people to rape and torture magical girls from various anime. However, he wanted to write a story for it that actually had a plot, but no one else wanted anything to do with it, so I went along with him. I gave him the idea of including Mai, Hikari, and Saya from Makeruna! Makendou Z, since they were what are known as Magical Girls. I thought up ways that Sailor Moon and her comrades (minus Sailor Mars and the Outer Senshi, whom I suggested dead) could be tortured. Ironically, though, I suggested first that the Makendou be the first ones to rise up against the government, and Jake said that he couldn't do that, because everyone would then hate them. I later suggested that they still have certain people like their parents, Makenkah, and Doro on their side, but he refused, saying that they'd either have betrayed them or be already dead, so I told him I'd rather they just not be in the fic.

Weeks later, when I watched an episode of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch on YouTube, something hit me right then and there: Do I really want to read anything related to Magical Girl Control Act? Let's consider the following:

1) Magical Girls used to be everyone's heroes, and now, their former friends, their families, and even the ones who hired them into service are turning on them.

2) A multi-crossover. Until reading the actual MCGA fic, I thought it was just all the bad guys from each anime in question, suddenly being able to finally conquer our heroes, all at the same time.

3) These girls used to have such innocent lives in the past. I don't think I can stand the thought of them having that taken away from them.

4) So much diversity in who they are, how they transform, etc., and now we're gonna kill and/or enslave them all?

5) Even if they win in the end, some of them will still be dead. The rest of them will be haunted for life by this.

Today, I read the history behind the MGCA, and learned that part of this whole thing involves collars that negate the girls' powers and affect their nervous systems so that they become obedient slaves to their owners. That obviously means that there is no chance of a rebellion by those already enslaved, and even if a liberation did occur, the formerly enslaved girls would no longer be able to live their own lives.

That's it! This is the last straw, my favorite part has been Darwithe's comments, where he explains why no such act would ever be passed, and I don't ever want anything to do with MGCA again! Ever!

Chelle:

Eh, lost the red wire, I don't get how Felidae related to MGCA? That movie made a valid point against vivisection and religious obsession (with a very unfortunate choice in animation style), the fic you describe seems to just be out to get high on abuse under guise of failed logic. ...Indeed, why would there ever be a Magical Girl Control Act?

On a side note, since you mentioned Mermaid Melody, I wanted to pimp MAL (http://myanimelist.net/) back then but forgot. It's a site that has a list function to keep track of what you watched, and more importantly it's a way to find anime you might like that otherwise you wouldn't have knew existed. And if not for that, you can use it to ask the people who saw the OVA you're looking for where they found it.

Ah, from that angle. (In a sense though, Felidae is about that for part; considering where the motivations of the villain come from, it was his voice talking about there being no good humans).

If you decide to have a profile there, send me an f-request ^_^.
