Mar. 19th, 2009 03:35 pmIt seems that my comment discussion with Chelle has been concluded, so now's the time to get some shit off my chest concerning the whole thing.
Overall, I would consider that conversation to be a mixed bag. I liked how he cleared up the difference between what Katsuo was gonna do in his fic and what those two boys who carried out their own actions at Columbine High School did years ago; as in, the former premeditating his actions and the latter simply snapping. However, on my part, I made a number of errors, such as answering questions that he didn't even ask and making several analogies to other fictional characters when I should have made a more to-the-point answer to one of the last questions.
My biggest mistake, though? I'd say, bringing up and linking to a fic for a certain fanservice-riddled anime. That just cannot be justified, because he already said months ago he avoids fanservice overload. What he asked was if I could think up a more credible explanation as to why Katsuo becomes such a twisted sicko than simply having been picked on, especially since most of his former tormentors can't realistically be just girls. My apologies for that move!
One thing that he did say, though, was that if Midori also abused him, then that would give him reason to become a misogynist as well as a pissed-off sadist. And, come to think of it, he's right about that. In the aforementioned fic's prologue, the amount of bullying the main character endured during his school years wasn't the only factor. His mother was unreasonable, his father never stood up to her, his sister eventually lied to their parents that he raped her after he refused to have sex with her, and his mother disowned him for refusing to apologize even though he never committed the act.
Now I understand the whole thing better!
Considering the dark nature of the fic I wrote about, I wasn't really expecting anything positive to be said about it to begin with, but I did look forward to see if Chelle had anything to say about it nonetheless. Mistakes were made on my part throughout the whole conversation, but hey, we're all just human.
Anyway, Chelle did say some stuff about Rockna's sixth sense. I sent him a PM asking him how she actually used it in the Mon Colle Knights anime, but have still yet to hear back from him.
