Chronicles of 7th Grade: Enter Matthew
May. 23rd, 2009 06:08 amI should've mentioned yesterday, that (Mom's) uncle Marvin is dead. He died of terminal cancer in February 2002, during his 50's, because he was a drug addict and an alcoholic. I, however, wasn't really friends with him, so it wasn't any big deal to me.
Anyway, important Co7G entry today, this is the one where I met Matthew for the first time ever:
September 29, 1998 (Tuesday)
On the way home from the orthodontist, Mom saw one of Danny’s turtles, and she’s like “Oh my God!!!” She pulled over and jumped out of the car to get it, and then came back and showed it to me.
“Go give this to Danny,” she said while she handed it to me. I ran to Danny’s house and rung the doorbell. Danny answered the door.
“I just found one of your turtles,” I told him.
“Oh, thanks Eric,” he answered, “but I usually let them outside.”
“I can’t come over today, because I’ve got Group,” I told him.
Just then, a bulldozer drove down Long Island Avenue.
“Did you see that bulldozer? It’s a good thing you found him before he got ran over,” Danny said.
When we got home, I packed up the Earthbound player’s guide to show Sean at group before we left. Before Group started, this kid Matthew also came to the Stonybrook hospital with his dad. When group started, I let Juliet know that I felt a bit embarrassed with myself for the answer I gave last week. In the end, I showed Sean that player’s guide I promised to show him.
Man, Diddy Kong Racing is one hard fucking game! I played the game back in 7th for a solid week, and got up to Future Fun Land. Right now, I've only played it for the past two days, and I'm almost done with Dragon Forest, but these Silver Coin Challenges are a bitch! For most of week 5, which I'm on, I don't remember what happened, but Saturday and the following Sunday are the last two days that we had the game before Brian traded it back for Starfox 64.
