Chronicles of 7th Grade: 10/3/98
May. 24th, 2009 04:15 amJust one entry today. It's not getting an lj-cut, because I've got something to add to my rant from two days ago.
October 3, 1998 (Saturday)
This morning, Mom took me, Brian, and Marie to the Yaphank Presbyterian Church. Brian and Marie raked the driveway, but I went into the woods to find Mount Unstoppable. I got lost in the woods looking for it, but I eventually found it. I climbed it, but then came back down when I saw three go-karts coming up. I came back to the church, and then Mom and Pastor Ralph also came back, and they were also looking for me. I told them I was looking for Mount Unstoppable. Pastor Ralph told Mom that we and the other kids went there last summer.
“Okay, we are to stick together from now on when going into the woods,” Mom told me and the other kids, as we left the churchyard.
After we left, Mom took Brian and Marie for McDonald’s, and she and I had Taco Bell. After lunch, I went crazy for hours. I’m like “I wanna be like Skeeter. He can still be crazy after someone yells at him. He jumped on a taxi windshield, and the driver was yelling at him, and he was still rowdy.”
We went to the library. Mom told me not to get any Nintendo Power or MAD magazines, but I talked her into letting me get some anyway. I looked at October’s issue of Nickelodeon Magazine in the children’s section while we were there. When we were leaving, me and Brian raced to the Suburban, and I almost won, and I kept trying to tell Brian that I won, and he’s like “It was a tie, and you know it.” He then said something about Jason Chainsaw, and I asked him to call me if it ever comes on, and he’s like “Okay, but you’re gonna be waiting a pretty long time.”
Tonight, I was playing Diddy Kong Racing, but then Brian told me that Celebrity Deathmatch was on. Me and Brian turned on MTV, and we had a bit of trouble before getting the static off the screen. We kept working on it, and soon, it was fixed up. We watched it, and I was repeating the curses. In one fight, the lochness monster was versing Bigfoot, and he sliced him in half with his tail, and Johnny Gomez is like “What the hell was that?” The lochness monster then broke out of the building and started terrorizing the city. In another fight, Monica Lewinsky was versing someone else, and before the fight started, her opponent was like “I am gonna kick Monica Lewinsky’s big fat ass,” with her foot raised.
Before dinner, I read that issue of Nickelodeon magazine from the library, and I was reading something about differences between Bobby and Skeeter, and one of them was “Has trouble with.” Bobby has trouble solving algebra problems. Skeeter has trouble keeping his mouth shut.
Later tonight, I turned on MTV in Mom and Dad’s room, and I saw some show with things such as “Man and Woman.” Like, a bride and groom were getting married, and suddenly, they became muscular, and they looked at eachother and screamed.
Mount Unstoppable: A hill that me and my group found previously during summer camp. Alex brought his bike there, and he and Brian would ride it down. They gave it the name, because once they started riding down, they couldn't stop the bike.

As far as Diddy Kong Racing today goes... well, it only took one morning to complete Sherbet Island, and not that much longer to finish the remaining two Silver Coin races in Dragon Forest afterward. WizPig... well, I did beat him when I was playing the game back then, but this time, I looked up a walkthrough, and it turns out that I completely forgot that if you let go of the A button before hitting a speed boost, you get even more of a boost than if you just hold A down. Doing this made the race considerably easier. After beaging WizPig, I first planned on waiting until the next morning before taking on Future Fun Land, but I still had so many hours to fill up that I figured, why not just get it over with? As it turns out, though, completing the T.T. Amulet is not enough to access that world; you also have to win first place in all four trophy races, which I initially skipped. I did manage to score 1st in the Dino Domain, but turned the game off while cracking away at that for Snowflake Mountain.
Honestly, I think that's enough with the game. Time to chill out!
Now, for the sequel to Friday's rant:
Well, first thing's first, I think part of my gripe about the first season's finale was that, in the previous episode, Itsuki told Kyon that Kyon and Haruhi had established some kind of trust between each other. Itsuki explained that Haruhi trusted Kyon enough to win a Night of Sagittarius match that she was willing to give up one of the members of the SOS Brigade, though I don't remember what Kyon was willing to sacrifice. For the last episode, Haruhi betrayed that trust by sending Kyon to get something for her, and then treat Mikuru as her dress-up doll.
Okay, I did once come across a pic titled something like "Mikuru's revenge", in which Mikuru fondle's Haruhi. But, if you ask me, that's just kinda lame. But, since someone already drew the pic, why not have someone draw a pic of Kyon or Itsuki having slit her throat with a knife or shoved said knife in her eye? (No, I'm probably not gonna draw such a pic, nor do I intend to write a fanfic solely to fulfill the purpose.)
Before that season finale, though, I don't remember if I even minded seeing Haruhi dress and undress Mikuru. If Haruhi were to take naked pictures of her, though, I think I might have drawn the line there, but since that chibi spinoff is non-canon, I might or might not continue watching it. In any case, though, it's a coincidence that the amount of unrelated content in the series outweighs the fanservice level that might otherwise make it unwatchable for Chelle and the same-sex abuse level that would make it unwatchable for me.

Speaking of the above paragraph's last sentence, same-sex abuse (mentioned two days ago), and impunity, wanna know what else bothered me about what else I like?
Penny Arcade. For the most part, I like that webcomic, and continue to read it every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Maybe it was because I'm a video gamer, and therefore, can associate with the two main characters.
But anyway, one thing that bothered me about the strip was Gabe's former abuse of Tycho. If he's gonna abuse his same-sex friend, even going as far as to maiming or killing him, then why didn't he ever pull any shit on his wife Kara? However, I am grateful for the handful of times that Tycho did something to him, such as releasing a savage dog on him, and I am grateful that Gabe isn't nearly as violent as he used to be.

Date: 2019-07-12 01:32 pm (UTC)The problem with the last episode is that it wasn't from the novels (which the other episodes were based on), but created specifically for the anime, so it doesn't tie in smoothly. Probably cause they wanted to be unusual and have 14 episodes rather than the usual 12 or 13.
Haruhi is oblivious and inconsiderate, but not a purely evil person, Kyon is too civilized to do something like slit her throat, especially since she hasn't killed anyone herself so that would be disproportionate revenge. Itsuki, .... is hard to read. He may be a total jerk underneath his facade. Kyon did try to hit her in the novels once, but the others stopped him in fear of what the giants of Haruhi's subconscious might do to the world.
