November 15, 1998 (Sunday)

This morning, Dad took us to Sunday School, instead of Mom doing so. After it was over, we went to get haircuts. While I was waiting, some half-bald guy was getting his hair cut, and he had a cut on the back of his head.

When we got home, I played DKC3. Craig came over while I was playing, and he and Brian watched me play before I went outside to wander.

Tonight, we saw something on ABC about The Bug’s Life. I saw a timer on the bottom-right corner counting down in seconds. When it reached 0, Sleeping Beauty came on. I watched the beginning of it, and then Mom was looking at my homework, and she asked me something about my homework. I’m like “What are you doing in my agenda book?” Dad’s like “Hey! Who do you think you’re talking to?” Soon, Mom told me to brush my teeth, and she said she’s gonna check them. I’m like “No, you’re not.” Dad yelled at me again. I wrote on the shower door, “Jim Ledger is a dickman/pissant/dickhead/jerkoff.” I then went into the office and sat on the chair, and I told Dad what I wrote on the shower door” He’s like “It’s okay if you write things behind my back.”

In 7th Period, Ms. Bonnie was with me. When I got home, I thought to myself “Ms. Bonnie would look good in a big nose.”

Tonight, I started playing Kirby Super Star.

November 17, 1998 (Tuesday)

Today, we had half a day in school.

Before we got off the bus to school, I wrote on the window, “Hey, get your nipplehead over here!” Everyone near me is like “You’re not supposed to write on the window.” When I finished, Jason read what I wrote, and he’s like “that’s what the busdriver said.” A few minutes later, everyone called the busdriver over to show him something, and he saw what I wrote. “Who wrote on the window?” he yelled. Everyone answered him. He then turned to me and asked me, “Would you like me to take you to court to have you clean that window?” After everyone else showed him whatever it was they had, he told me not to write on the window, before returning to his seat.

Before we went to Group, Dad told me “I bet you can’t wait to see ‘The Bug’s Life’ with Matthew, can you?”

Tonight at Group, we planned out a party for next week. I decided I would bring in Rice Krispie treats. Sean decided to bring in potato chips. I can’t remember what Josh and Matthew decided upon.

After Group, Mom drove to some arts & crafts store. While she was driving, I told Mom what happened on the bus.

“They don’t want oil on the window from people’s fingerprints,” she told me.

At dinner, I asked my parents “Is the school allowed to cut out any pictures from the yearbook?”

“I don’t think so,” Dad said.

“Once on Daria, one of the teachers was cutting the gym pictures out of the yearbook, and some of the students told him it was not fair to them, and he’s like ‘Hey, they’ve made a good suggestion, and if they make a good suggestion, we don’t care whether it’s fair or not.’”

“Well, you see, the thing with that guy is, he’s a nut.”

Tonight, me and the other kids watched Cousin Skeeter and the Thanksgiving episode of Rugrats.

November 18, 1998 (Wednesday)

Today, we had another half day, only we had the periods that we didn’t have yesterday. In Health, we watched a video where someone is teaching his class about drugs, and meanwhile, another person is doing everything to get in the classroom.

We can stop there for today, not only because I'm only halfway into Kirby Super Star, but also because that was the day that the first Penny Arcade strip was hosted. Back then, of course, Mom and Dad obviously wouldn't have let me read that webcomic, but nevermind that, I couldn't anyway because we had no Internet at the time. However, it is an important part of my life as of today, and has been for roughly two years now, and it is a coincidence that it got started on the very year that I'm writing about. So, hold up your pointer and pinky...

...and let's all welcome Jonathan "Gabe" Gabriel and Tycho Brahe in their first strip ever!

Back to the present.

We sure had a lot of stuff to do yesterday. I don't remember exactly what Marie's duties were, but Brian mostly had to sand the walls in my room. I had to sweep up part of the driveway, do some things in Mom's garden, and vacuum my room after Brian finished sanding it.

The Pokemon trading sequences also took longer than I thought they would, which is why I only managed to get half the way through Kirby Super Star.

All that aside, Mom also showed Marie some clump of teeny-tiny spiders in the rose bushes, before also showing me and Brian. When they're bunched up together like that, they look almost like a wasp nest, but when it cools down or you blow on them lightly, they all spread out. Marie thought it was disgusting, but I think they're kinda cute. If they're still there during the hot part of the day, I'll be sure to take pictures of them.
