The Chronicles continue! For Monday, Brian's friend James shows us his copy of Snowboard Kids, giving me the chance to finally play it again for the first time in Months. Tuesday, I invite Daniel over, mainly to show off one of my South Park t-shirts, and I also receive a player's guide for a certain game that I would buy the following Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday (the latter being New Year's Eve), I spent most of sleeping over at Matthew's house. Nothing happened on New Year's Day that year, and that's where I will leave off for today.

December 28, 1998 (Monday)

Today, Brian told me that James got Snowboard Kids for Christmas. Now I can stop taking music from Diddy Kong Racing. James came over and brought the game with him. Brian and James played it together. James let Brian borrow it after he left. I called Danny to see if he could come over, but he told me that his Grandma died. When I started playing, Marie’s like “I hope you’re not gonna think up another snowboarding trip.” Brian’s like “Shut up!”

Today, I got a dozen KinderEggs in an egg carton.

At dinner, I asked Brian why he’s like “Shut up!” to Marie.

“Because, we only got Snowboard Kids once,” he said.

“Every time we get Snowboard Kids, he thinks up another snowboarding trip,” Marie said.

Tonight, while I was playing Snowboard Kids, Hey Arnold! came on. On that episode, the school had a new student named Lorenzo, and Arnold was teaching him how to be a kid.

December 29, 1998 (Tuesday)

This morning, I called Danny to see if he could come over. He said he was able to this morning. I then got dressed, and I wore my white South Park t-shirt.

When he came over, we played Snowboard Kids. We raced in Dizzy Land. While we were playing, we smelled something, and Danny’s like “What is that smell? It smells like piss.” Brian’s like “Maybe it’s pea soup.”

“Yeah, but it does not agree with my nose,” Danny said.

After the race was over, Danny’s like “Can we play anything else? No big noses.” Brian asked him if he wants to play Mario Kart 64. We battled eachother in Block Fort. Brian and Danny were both against me, but I said “I’ll cover you” to Danny.

Soon, he had to go home, and I walked with him. He noticed I was wearing one of my South Park t-shirts. He’s like “I saw the Christmas episode at my friend’s house. Like, Cartman’s Mom asked them if they could think of a non-religious song. One of them is like ‘I’m a bitch, you’re a bitch, he’s a bitch, cuzz we’re all bitches hey! Monday’s a bitch, Tuesday’s a bitch, Wednesday’s a bitch, Thursday’s a bitch, Friday’s a bitch, SATURDAY’S A BITCH!!!’ And then another one of them is like ‘Cartman’s Mom is a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch and a bitch’ and everyone starts dancing.”

When I came back home, I got a player’s guide for Banjo-Kazooie. While I was reading it, Dad was watching TV, and he’s like “Eric, it’s your favorite show!” Marie’s like “Jerry Springer?” It was just Thomas the Tank Engine.

Tonight, Brian was at James’s house, and he had Snowboard Kids. I kept asking Mom “When’s Brian gonna be home?” While Brian was at James’s, I watched some song by Will Smith called Welcome to Miami, and then another song by Puff Daddy. When Brian came home, I started playing Snowboard Kids. Mom’s like “Is that why you kept asking me ‘When’s Brian gonna be home?’”

December 30, 1998 (Wednesday)

Today, Matthew called me to see if I could sleep over at his house. James was here, and Mom asked Brian and James to let me play before I go to Matthew’s. Later, Brian and James challenged me in Quicksand Valley, and I asked them to let me use the memory card if I win. They used Level 3 boards, while I used a Level 1 board.

Before I went to Matthew’s, I packed one of my “South Park” t-shirts to wear tomorrow. I also packed up the Super NES and all of its games.

When I got to Matthew’s, we were gonna hook up the Super NES, but it didn’t work. Me and Matthew played Twisted Metal, and then watched The Simpsons. It was the one where Homer refuses to give the teddy bear back to Mr. Burns, but at first, I thought it was the Christmas episode I also saw two years ago. When it was over, we played Crash Bandicoot. We turned it off when we got to some ancient temple with bats. We then watched this show on Channel 5 where they reveal the secrets of magic tricks, and then the news came on. We watched it. In one part of the news, that woman who had octuplets, one of them got killed. In another part, rats invaded a donut shop. Later, me and Matthew had some cookies.

We slept in the basement on some couch that folds into a bed. Matthew was watching Scooby Doo, and I also watched.

December 31, 1998 (Thursday; New Year's Eve)

This morning, Matthew got up, but I thought it was still nighttime. Later, I went upstairs and realized it was morning. Matthew was playing some war game on his computer that takes place in the middle ages. I just watched him play.

Later today, we played Rayman. While we were playing, Mrs. Hughes asked us if we wanted to make Christmas Cookies. Matthew went into the kitchen, but I kept playing for a few more minutes, and then also went into the kitchen.

Even though Matthew's family name is technically "Neiditch", I do understand that his mother retained her original last name upon marriage.

For lunch, Mrs. Hughes made me and Matthew some Greek food. I liked it. After lunch, I led Matthew into the basement to see how dark it was. “That’s why I thought it was still nighttime this morning,” I told him. We then had a pillow fight.

Later, Mom picked me up. Tonight, I showed Mom and Dad something I saw on The Simpsons. Someone was on stage, and he was telling the audience something, and he stuck his ass at the audience while he was speaking. I copied that person, and Dad told me to go to bed.

Next game: Banjo-Kazooie

Back to the present.

Sent back: Lucky Star, disk 2. I am set to receive disk 1 of Mahoromatic, but not before receiving that DVD I ordered as a Father's Day gift for Dad.

To start off, I bought Pokemon Diamond from GameStop yesterday. I decided to get it then, because Mom had some shopping to do at Stop 'N' Shop, which is in the same shopping center as GS. I also noticed on the receipt that I could win a Wii and a Playstation 3 simply by filling out an online survey. I went ahead and took it upon coming home, though if I had seen such a thing online, I would've just dismissed it as a pop-up ad. I still have yet to hear back to see if I won.

Anyway, the fact that I'm now playing Diamond will make the Platinum era somewhat less epic than it would otherwise be. For one thing, the purpose of going back to play FireRed, Ruby, and Emerald was so that all five GBA games would have some Pokemon to select for the PAL Park. Well, Platinum *does* have a considerably larger PokeDex than Diamond or Pearl anyway. Furthermore, I will still play Platinum at some point, because that's the only game that can utilize Shaymin and Regigigas' special powers and the Secret Key. Considering that in Japan, it was the only game compatible with the past events for the Member Card and Oak's Letter, I have reason to believe that it would be the only game here compatible with any downloading events to take place within the next half year.

On the plus side, one thing that Platinum will get through the PAL Park that Diamond won't get is "gift" items (and I'm not talking about the Mystery Gift feature). While I won't be giving items away from my primary GBA set (save for Pokemon-exclusive ones or those required to evolve certain Pokemon), I will do such a thing with a secondary set of GBA games for Platinum. Furthermore, if I decide to play Pokemon Battle Revolution using the Pokemon I collect in Diamond, I'll be sure to use my PokeCoupons to buy Mystery Gift items for Platinum. (I know most of them aren't that worthwhile, but like they say, one shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.)

In other news, Mom had to look something up about swine flu while I was talking to Jake last night. She told me that someone at Marie's dorm has it, and is quarantined in his room so that no one else gets infected. He isn't in the hospital because he's not at risk of dying, but because of his condition, Marie won't be coming home this week, as originally planned.

Also, I found a website called Puchi Carat Palace last night. For the record, it only has information about the Arcade, PSX, and GBC versions of the game, which seems to suggest that no such versions exist for anything else. The person who owns it even has linked to the Wikipedia page, but even though he only mentioned the Japanese and European versions, I'm pretty sure that a "(U)" means that the game (or at least the GBC version) had been released in the United States. But anyway, here's a link, so as to dispel anything erroneous that I might've said or read off of Wikipedia:
