Just one entry today. Title is self-explanatory. As far as I know, this is the last time Brian's friend Craig ever came to visit us, except for one time a year later.

March 15, 1999 (Monday)

Today was a snow day. I went outside and made a snow boulder. After a while, it wouldn’t budge another inch, and I thought to myself, “I wish I had a Power Glove, or a Titan’s Mitt.”

Later today, I played Yoshi’s Island, and I tried to get perfect on Castle Masterpiece Set. I gave up. I came into the living room, and Mom had a picture of Uncle Robby and Adam. Later, I played Paperboy 2, and I was naming the streets curses, such as Jerkoff Avenue.

Later, I called Danny to see if he wanted to come over. He said he could come over. I asked him if I could borrow Ocarina of Time, but he told me that he and each of his brothers have files on it, and there is no empty file.

He came over along with his brother Patrick and Brian’s friend Craig and Marie’s friend Lauren. We were pretending to play Star Wars: Rogue Squadron in the snow. We built a fort, and then Dad came out, and we had a snowball fight, him vs all of us. I got one in his face. After a few minutes, Marie was crying, and we stopped. Soon, Mr. Clemens came out, and I asked him if I could borrow Tetris Attack. He said I could, and I gave him back Donkey Kong Country.

After everyone went home, I came back inside, and me and Mom looked at my homework. It turned out it was all done.

Tonight, I played Tetris Attack. I got a really good combo before I went to bed. Tomorrow morning, I’m gonna kick some ass.

Tomorrow will cover my birthday, in case that's of any interest. Stay tuned!

Back to the present.

Marie went back home yesterday morning.

We finally watched The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 yesterday. Mom commented that this is the first time she's seen me sit through an entire movie in a long time. Dad kinda asked if I would sit down and write the entire script to this movie, just like I did with another 70's movie titled Clint Eastwood: Sudden Impact so many years ago. Mom's like "Yeah, that was sure obsessive!"

Yeah, the fact that I once copied the entire script to Sudden Impact is worth mentioning, since it's quite similar to my having transcripted Makeruna! Makendou Z not even half a year ago. We had watched that movie just days before my birthday in 2001 (9th grade back then), and then the following summer, I took it out and copied the entire script. This project took the entire summer. Throughout the movie, there were lines here and there that I was unable to make out, and had to have either Mom or Brian pick them up for me, after Brian just came along in response to my constant rewinding early in the movie and just offering, and until he asked towards the end if I was even trying. (A year after I wrote the entire script, I took the movie out one more time to bring down to Virginia, so that me, Brian, Marie, Grandma Barbara, Aunt Marie, Uncle Ray, and Cousin David could all watch it.)

Seeing how hard of a time I had at copying the dialogue of something that was in English, just think how hard it will be to decipher everything from Makeruna! Makendou Z! Well, I will translate whatever I'll be able to after reading the entire Japanese in Mangaland trilogy and testing my Japanese skills further with Getter Love!, but there will probably be lines that I'll have to just skip. Hopefully, I might be able to get *some* help from Jake and/or Chelle; the former at least knows some Japanese words, though I don't know how much he'll actually be able to decipher. Still, who knows, if he lives in a Portuguese-speaking country, can speak English quite fluently, and said stuff in his own blog about knowing or wanting to learn other languages? As for Chelle, yes, she did say before that he avoids fanservice overload, and previously, I wouldn't have dreamed of enlisting his help. However, it turns out that moderate amounts are okay with him, and it's not like the stuff in this game is all over the place (except for in the hidden FMV, which is what I downloaded from YouTube recently).

Of course, the above paragraph is only assuming that either of them actually can translate anything. Furthermore, I still gotta show that I am capable of translating anything before I seek help from anyone.
