For the week covered in this set of entries, I took a break from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time until Mom bought me a second player's guide for that game. On Saturday, Mom went with Marie on some Girl Scouts trip, and Dad took me and Brian out sailing... on a sailboat that he probably bought. (This was years before the catboat was completed.)

Right now, I’m gonna put off playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time until I have a player’s guide that has more stuff in it. Today, though, I started playing Super Mario World. This time, I’m not gonna waste time going slow without getting hit or turning the game off. I’m just gonna look for the Dragon Coins in the two levels where I couldn’t find all of them before.

Today, Nicole came over, and she and Marie played with Legos. Meanwhile, I continued playing Super Mario World, and I found all five Dragon Coins in Chocolate Island 4. I can still only find one of them in Chocolate Secret, and I guess that level only has one.

Tonight, Mom and Marie had a Girl Scouts meeting, and Mom told me that she might get me that Ocarina of Time player’s guide if she has time before she comes home. I waited for her to come home, but she couldn’t get there.

I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with that black boulder in Zora’s Fountain. The player’s guide that I have says that there’s a secret grotto under it, which has a Gold Skulltula. I tried blasting it, slashing it, hitting it with the Megaton Hammer, you name it, and nothing works.

Today in Science, Kenny wrote something on my hand, in a light green marker. Taison noticed it when I was in Gym, and he asked me who wrote it. I told him, and James asked me if it was the same Kenny from Homeroom. I answered, and he said his last name is Franklin.

Mom got that player’s guide that I wanted, and it also turns out that I need the Silver Gauntlets in order to move the boulder in Zora’s Fountain.

May 22, 1999 (Saturday)

Today, Mom and Marie went on some Girl Scouts trip.

Dad brought me and Brian to some fishing equipment store. When we came home, me and Brian looked at some Lego magazine.

Later on, Dad took me and Brian out sailing. We spent at least several hours on some river, but the whole time, I wanted to be home playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While we were out, we did pass a ship graveyard.

Today, I had started a new game in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. After we came home from sailing, I continued playing the game, but shut it off during the part when Zelda speaks to Link. I then went outside to think about a version of my made-up game, where Erin, Veronica, Nadia, Elouise, and William go through the levels as big, cone-shaped noses while carrying a baby along.

Returning: The World of Narue, disk 1

Back to the present.

Yesterday morning, a wi-fi distribution event has been announced for the Member Card, which will be available from August 3 through September 13. Now, I do understand that the National Dex is required to actually use the Card. Whether it's required to obtain it... well, I did ask on the Bulbagarden Forums, and someone said that it is, but they might have misread the Bulbanews page that announced it. If I actually do need the National Dex in Pokemon Platinum before I download the Member Card, then I only have a month and a half to get cracking. However, if I can get the item at any time before completing the main game, then that means postponing Platinum (and playing Diamond instead) really paid off. Meanwhile, the distribution doesn't begin for another few days, and I still need to complete Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time before... August 3, since it's the same day that the next game in the 7th Grade lineup will be announced.

Yeah, as far as Ocarina of Time goes, I managed to complete four dungeons instead of just two yesterday. When I get back to it, the Shadow Temple will be next.
