Yesterday morning, Mom and Dad went to New York to pick up Marie. From what I overheard before they left, there had been an oil spill on the Long Island Expressway.

-----

Vincent came to see me yesterday. As soon as I got in his car, he drove to the beach. On the way there, he asked me stuff about what I'm gonna be asked in a job interview, and told me that potential employers are not gonna hire someone who need more breaks than are scheduled.

When we got to the beach, Vinnie just took off his socks and shoes to dip his feet into the water. I then told him that I took Makoto out to the beach earlier in the morning, and the only thing she took off were her sandals. He asked me who Makoto was, and I told him she was one of the girls in Getter Love!! I then started cracking up, and he asked me what about that game was so funny. I told him that what was really funny was trying to hoax him. (Similarly, weeks ago, when I told him what that game's about he said that it reminds him of another game. When I asked him which one, he said "real life!"

-----

Mom and Dad got stuck in traffic on the way home from New York. As a result, I was late to bowling, and the first game was already half over. I had to wait for the second game to start, but that's no big deal when you consider that Robert didn't even show up last week. In fact, he didn't show up this week either; someone named Cathy had to fill in for him. For the second game, though, I started out with a strike, and ended with a perfect 100.

-----

After Mom picked me up, a dispute started concerning my schoolwork. Mom says that I cannot let the reading assignments go, but if you'd like to know, I was able to pass most of my classes by just showing up, taking my exams, and doing my term papers. (I remember last spring, I told Mom that I was already too busy doing my term papers to be bothered with reading the textbooks, and she said my logic doesn't sound very good: "If I do this, then I can't do that." She said that I should be spending entire days working, but for her information, I'm just not as capable as Brian or Marie of working so many straight hours a day on end.)

Anyway, I told her that if she really insists that I do all the reading assignments, then she can't give me any housework. She said she wouldn't have if she saw that I really was doing the work, but it seems to her that I spend more time either walking around outside or playing my game than doing the actual work. Some shit ensued from there, and then we agreed to write up a schedule for when I come home.

Oh, and in response to her saying she could just take my TV away, I told her that I could just as easily confiscate the cable box, which she has a hard time re-connecting. She said that that wouldn't bother her as much as not being able to play my game would bother me. Oh, really? I suppose it would bother Dad more, since he likes to watch all his bullshit in the morning and evening? And, especially, since he used to order me off of the TV when he wanted to watch stuff during his only day of the week off, back when I was playing Makeruna! Makendou Z? Even if taking the cable box isn't enough, I could find even more loopholes around not being able to game if it came to that. One thing's for sure, if she thinks that that would help me concentrate, I'm gonna prove her wrong.

So anyway, here was my schedule that I wrote up:

Schooldays (Mon-Thu):
Morning- Wake up, eat breakfast, get fixed up, update my blog, one round of Getter Love!!, do whatever else before the bus comes.
Non-class hours- Do stuff to unwind between classes, read Japanese in Mangaland, meet with Vincent, eat lunch, go for walks.
After school- Have a nap, one more round of Getter Love!!
Evening- Eat dinner, talk to Jake

Home days (Fri-Sun):
Wake up, play one round of Getter Love!!, focus on term papers, fit a manageable amount of reading around that, take small breaks along the way. No additional stuff, except for what Dad needs.

I showed it to her, and she suggested that I use the mornings for reading. According to her, the game should be a reward to myself for getting through the schoolday. She even went as far as to suggest that I give her the game in the morning like I'm ten, and we argued a little bit more. A few minutes later, I she spoke to me while I was on the computer, and I told her that she is not to say anything about my reading assignments in the afternoons from now on.

Come to think of it, though, that probably would work. If I can get myself an entire nag-free block of time in the afternoon in exchange for using my morning hours to read, then I might be able to actually focus on what people are saying in the game. Let me tell you, looking up kanji is fucking tedious, and often, I just skip through it just to progress through the game.

During dinner, Marie and Dad said some stuff about her living in the dorm. I joined in and said that if only I was living in a dorm, we wouldn't have this problem. Marie's like "Didn't you have the option to live in one?" I said that I had that option before, but I stayed home because Brian was staying home for an entire semester, and I wanted to be home with him. After he went back, the dorm was no longer an option. Mom's like "Well excuse me, you probably wouldn't have lasted in the dorm anyway. They would've just kicked you out."

Anyway, I told everyone that I remember some Zits strip, where Jeremy tries to make an agreement with his mother that he will watch some movie with her if she promises not to bother him for four straight hours. "No nagging, no requests, no questions... regardless of sounds, vibrations, odors, intuition", and then she says she'll just watch it herself. (Looked through the archive, and couldn't find it. Sorry.) I also told everyone about some dispute I remember Mom and Brian having last summer, that nearly ended with Brian saying that he'll just go to California and get stoned for the rest of his life and Mom shrieking "YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE! FUCK YOU, BRIAN!!!", right before they reconciled. (That was on May 27, because I remember that was the same day I was playing the Star Wars game.)

Anyway, last night was Mom's birthday. Dad left me a present and a card between my pillows the previous night, and I forgot to wrap the present or sign the card. While we were eating cake, I then took the time to write "Happpy Birthday, Mom! Nice dispute today!" before giving it to her. I then went back into my room, put the present inside a pillowcase, came out, and started swinging it like a ball and chain. I said "Let me know when to let go!" Dad's like "You better not!" I then stopped swinging it, and just handed it to her. It was: A bottle of hand lotion.

GETTER LOVE!!

Started out by going to Cafe Liquid and asking for Makoto's next destination. Met with Makoto the next turn at CD&BOOK.

At one time, Sesshuu got jumped by the Hose Beast, and lost a date with Natsuki at Cafe Liquid. He then went home and used a Reika Ageru card on me, which in turn ruined a date I had with Makoto. The turn after that, I walked over to Itoh Mart, and used an Al card to get rid of her.

So, I already mentioned before that I managed to get her out onto the beach. Later on, I also got her event at my house, where she sits on my doorstep. And then, during a date at Panda Park, she showed me her cat. (Its name escapes me, because I was rushing through the text. However, I do know that Shizuku has a dog named Pero.)

Later on in the game, Makoto called Sesshuu (who was hosed again) to let him know that she would be at CD&BOOK. I went over to the Panda Dept. Store, but couldn't prevent myself from beating Sesshuu there. Not determined to get hosed again, I went to the Information Center and bought another Al card.

Several turns later, I went back to the Information Center and bought a Love Love card. The next turn, however, I went to CD&BOOK, but Makoto beat me there, so I used the card instead. The turn after that, I beat her to Cafe Liquid, she talked to me, and I was so sure that I would've gotten her Love Love ending... except, I didn't. Well, Daisuke did have enough love from Meifa to win with her, and I wasn't about to let him take the game, so I just went for the Suki Suki ending anyway... which it turns out, is the one I had anyway.

Well, that's three of Makoto's events saved to my game, now I just gotta visit her house, take her out the Shrine, and get the Love Love ending, and she's done.
