Received yesterday: Kanon, disk 6

I had a look at my Africa notebook, and got a lot more information out of it than from all the readings combined. However, I had a hard time focusing, though I did write some stuff down to refer to before the exam, so I finally allowed myself to play Pokemon Diamond last night.

Mom noticed a tendency pattern of mine that I didn't even notice myself. Everyday, ever since I recently saw a few minutes of this show called Earth's Last Days, I worry that someone's gonna find out and announce the next day that a black hole is headed our way. If it ever does, I would kill myself so that I wouldn't have to stand the thought of everything that everyone on earth has done being wasted. What Mom noticed after I looked up on Google whether this is true yet or not, is that I tend to think about it more whenever I'm stressed out. Dad said that I'd have more of a chance of dying while driving down to school, but I told him that I worry mainly about humanity having no legacy to leave behind for any alien archaeologists that might otherwise come along and find. He then said that everything we do or make is to support ourselves and make us feel good in the present, not to show people of the future how we lived or what we made.

I know I'm hardly leaving a mark behind as it is, but I appreciate anime and video games as artwork, rather than just stuff that was made to make money. Will the Internet be able to preserve such obscure games as Getter Love!!, or anime titles as Ultimate Girls, Lucky Star, or A Little Snow Fairy Sugar? Will we remember pieces of video game history, such as Sega's abandoned plan for a Genesis/32X hybrid console called the Neptune, from such sources as Game On! and the Angry Video Game Nerd? Will we even remember such a still-famous game as Super Mario Bros. for the NES? And let's not forget all the intricacies that come with any game, console, or peripheral, starting with the requirement of a TV set (except for handhelds), the correct console, and some other bullshit; to less basic ones such as how to use a Game Genie or any equivalent; to really advanced ones such as the fact that it was once possible for certain people to set up wi-fi "hotspots" where players could download stuff to any Pokemon game for the Nintendo DS.

This blog? I wonder how long it will last after I die, and if anyone will be lucky enough to find it. Read any history book, and you will no doubt find stuff that was said or written by people that was relevant to whichever time, place, and event any given chapter focuses on. I even remember, back in 7th grade, seeing an illustration in my history book of someone writing in a journal during the American Revolution, and someone else stands behind him and asks "Who will want to read about this war a hundred years from now?"
