Anyway, just yesterday, my newfound fetish for giantesses (and not necessarily sexual ones) led me to a site called The GTS Depot. Oddly enough, there is nothing about Ultimate Girls in the archive. I mean, even though it is an obscure series, every single episode has at least one of the girls growing 50 feet or so tall. It's the whole point behind that title. On the other hand, if anything is really out of place there, it's their shit about Azumanga Daioh: Sakaki dreams that she's her own size while Chiyo is about a foot or so tall, and they try to justify it by stating how big the former would've been if the latter were at her normal size.
When I got home from school, I emailed Blar (who apparently owns the site) a suggestion to check out UG. It didn't go through, so I registered an account for the forum and PM'ed him. I later realized that the news archive was last updated on September last year, and the Japanese archive was last updated in 2004. I started a thread asking if the site really was defunct, and got a response saying that Blar is alive but busy.
Now for some shit about some individual titles:
Ultimate Girls
Here is the post that introduced both Ultimate Girls and the Pokemon ficseries that I would later dub Parasitic Trio. If anything's ironic, it's that of all times I started watching UG, it was during the same time period that I was already watching A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, which needless to say, has the exact opposite of giantesses. (Also, even though Jake is no longer interested in that PT, introducing it and discussing it with him for the first time had been one of the best days of that summer to look back to.)
According to TV Tropes & Idioms, "word has it that some people get turned on by giant girls (see Macrophilia)." For me, it was the other way around. I started watching that series because it actively made use of the Girls' embarrassment; me being attracted to girls that big happens to be the result of having watched it.
As of recently, I've felt the urge to continue thinking about my two ficseries. Just two nights ago, I told Jake about an idea I've had for my second fic, in which Sho (Vivienne's son in the future) dreams that Vivienne is talking to him in her Ultimate Girl form and tells him about his upcoming role.
Finally, even though I prefer ecchi over hentai, I've been in the mood just yesterday to re-read several UG doujins that Jake showed me recently.

Happy Lesson
Not a series I'm likely going to watch, but I became aware not too long ago of an eyecatch depicting Fumitsuki as a giantess. The look on her face is kinda cute... but not priceless. Not enough to override the fact that the main character (emphasis on the fact that he's a guy) starts to get the short end of the stick when he has to share his own house with five female teachers.

Card Captor Sakura
For the most part, I tend to prefer cute girls over hot ones as giantesses, ditto for Milfeulle from Galaxy Angel Z (discussed just recently) and that cave-bound girl from Armored Troopers (linked to at the beginning of this post; actual title too long to spell out). But anyway, Episode 31 of this series had indeed been a favorite of mine to watch just yesterday. Originally, Sakura complains (twice) that her situation is embarrassing (though from what I understand, this might also be because she doesn't usually like dressing up for her battles, which Tomoyo makes her do). In the dub, she says "You all look so small", which doesn't really fit her facial expression or her crouching down like that, and later "Oh. Anybody want a ride?" after Kero says "One false step and the gang down there is history!"

With the dub brought up, I'm gonna sidetrack for a bit here. A lot of anime (such as the aforementioned Armored Troopers) never get dubbed, and this one (among others) got a butchered dub. I've looked for fandubs on YouTube, and it turns out that quite a handful of folks attempted such a thing, but barely even got started. And that is the reason why I'd like to start Retro Savoir.

Just found it yesterday morning. Turns out you're supposed to download it somewhere. Too bad I won't be able to play it right now, until my Japanese skills are much better, and even then, Japanese voice-acting sucks (which is why I watched the shitty dub of that Card Captor Sakura clip).

One tip : I noticed you have it at the LJ storage now, but for thumb-linking you can also use the Photobucket thumbs. Just add th_ before the name of the file in the Url in the image tag., while leaving the a href tag url normal.
