Nov. 18th, 2009 05:48 amYesterday, I had an appointment with Dr. Perret, and Mom picked me up from school at some point after my Psychology class ended. By the time we got there, we still had half an hour to kill, so she drove me to the nearby bank to cash a check that I received at work.
On the way out, I saw a poster on the Blockbuster window, for a remake of The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3. I pointed it out to her, and we talked about it for a bit. She said that that remake came out roughly a year ago, and it wasn't any coincidence that she and Dad decided to check out the original from Netflix. It was a famous movie for its time, but they never did watch it then.
Anyway, with Dr. Perret, I brought up that whole list I wrote up about college recently, asked why Jake is so much better than I am at coming up with ideas, told him about my anger management issues (namely, about that time I ejected Mom and Dad's Sopranos DVD and then left each of my classes early the next day), and that whole deal with me and potential fetishes.
For the second of those, he said that Jake might be more advanced than I am, possibly because he writes a lot more than I do. However, in friendship, no one should really keep track of who "owes" what to whom, just give each other what they can give, and over time, I should be able to come up with stuff more easily.
With fetishes, he said that this might be because I don't have anyone to have sex with, and as a result, my mind might be taking more extreme measures to feel sexual pleasure. This isn't the first time he said the following, but by nature, they are irrational. For example, some folks have a fetish for women's footwear, possibly because some of them have something that resembles a vagina. He said that they're neither good nor bad, and lots of people do have them, but most keep them to themselves.
To wrap this entry up, I finally finished one of my term papers last night. Still got a lot more stuff to go, but after the 3rd of December, all I'll have left (mostly) is to study for finals, take them, and I'll be done with college once and for all.
