Got started with my China take-home final.

Received a Christmas card from Mrs. Bandows. Despite my grudge against her, I actually was planning on sending her a copy of Chronicles of 7th Grade for Christmas. To be honest, she was nice to some extent, such as when she used to buy me cookies and ice cream for lunch in 8th grade. I've been planning on printing up Co7G, but not until after I'm all done with school.

Made an attempt to split my copy of the Makendou OAV into three segments with Windows Movie Maker. Well, splitting it was easy enough, but I can only save the whole things as a project. I can't save the individual clips anywhere, even though I am allowed to "Copy" them. I called Brian up to see if he could help me. Shortly afterwards, he suggested I speak to him through AIM, so that he could just give me a link, but then we decided that I'd let him take care of things when he comes home next week.

While I was on AIM, my old buddy Martin also happened to be on. I contacted him, and he was glad to see me, but said that he was actually about to have a nap. I told him that I hardly ever use AIM nowadays, and suggested that he email me whenever he's got stuff to talk to me about. Also told him that I'm hoping to upload the Makendou OAV onto YouTube pretty soon.

Odd, while I know the "save to computer" process can freeze in the middle if there are too many clips, but with only three it should be no problem. You did try the real save process, located under the number 3, right? Clicking the top bar is for saving the project, however, if you want to save the individual clips, you need to first delete two, then save the first using the sidebar "save to computer" function, then undo delete and isolate the second, save to computer, isolate third, save to computer.

It's cause the WMM projects don't do anything to the file itself, they are just a blueprint, a map of the end result. To create new files, they need to be recoded and transferred to .wmv, which might take anything from 5 minutes to 30, depending on complexity (single clips should not take long).

For Youtube uploads, select "best quality for file size" and raise the number behind it as high as possible.
