Chelle, since this website won't simply let me PM you images, here a picture I took of the cover of Mon Colle Knights DVD volume 8:

-----

Mom took Brian back to Cornell yesterday.

Right now, I've got to get started with something. For the past few days, I've been doing almost nothing but constantly checking my email (for stuff by Chelle), reading stuff on TV Tropes & Idioms, and doing whatever chores Mom and Dad assign me. Currently, Jake wants me to continue with some information for a fic that he and I have discussed, and I've barely gotten started with that.

-----

While I normally like music that's upbeat, and while I don't normally go onto potentially harmful websites, I've found myself going to this website I found specifically to watch a certain part of episode 14 of Kanon (as well as the dub of Ayu's time at the movie theater in episode 6). The song that plays when Mai, Yuichi, and Sayuri are all in different places (18:10), up until Sayuri gets mauled in the restroom, kinda stimulates me, and if you ask me, could just as easily have been used in Parasite Eve. (I guess it helps that that song has some kind of "beat" to it.)

If I were to apply that song to Monster Collection Chronicles, that song could go with some of the more "tranquil" scenes, when the Knights aren't fighting anything but could be attacked at any moment. If anything else, it could also go with any flashbacks in the first fic that involve Katsuo torturing the girls he captured during his first life in NYC.

Opening sequences...

Every single TV show and OAV in existence has them, certain online video series have them, a lot of games (especially RPGs) have them, and movies sometimes have those that merge smoothly into the actual content. Most of these have completely original songs, but sometimes, the people who write them use a song that was originally sung by some singer or band.

One thing I have *never* seen them do, though? Use a video game song as the theme song.

Well, I already mentioned that if the second fic for Monster Collection Chronicles were to be viewable through images instead of just text, this song from Contra IV would be the opening theme.

With that said, before I forget, here's an opening sequence I thought up to go with it:

0:00 Something seemingly human morphs into a bio-demon.

0:02 Someone random looks around to find more bio-demons around him or her.

0:04 Yet more bio-demons jump through an until-then intact window pane.

0:06 Panoramic view of New York City, where bio-demons are shown plaguing the entire place.

0:09 Someone opens a door somewhere, and gets mauled by a demon lurking behind it.

0:16 That person flees his or her assailant.

0:18 Some more demons find a random restroom somewhere, enter it, and approach whoever they've trapped inside.

0:25 Viewers can only watch as blood drips from one of the unfortunate victims' bodies, which then itself falls limply to the floor, mutilated.

0:27 Stuff like this is shown happening all over New York City. Green slime oozing here and there, bio-demons slaughtering anyone they can get their hands on, and where are our heroes?

0:36 The screen then pans to the source of the crisis: a towering, orange, plant-like abomination standing somewhere in the water.

0:38 We're then shown what that thing looks like on the inside, going all the way up the womb-like shaft, until we see...

0:40 ...the mutating form of Osama bin Laden.

0:42 There are the Mon Colle Knights, getting ready to contend with him, but then...

0:44 ...down from the ceiling falls some more green slime...

0:47 ...which morphs into the bio-demons that have been plaguing NYC and other parts of the worlds.

0:49 All twelve of the Knights proceed to do battle with them, but drop one by one as they suffer all kinds of horrible ways to die, from losing fingers, hands, arms, or heads, to having hands pierce their chests, to being chewed up and eaten alive

1:15 Mondo is the last one standing by the time all demons have been slain. He and bin Laden face each other down, as bin Laden holds Rockna's severed head in one hand, and one of her arms in the other.

1:20 Mondo is shocked stiff at the sight of parts of his best friend's body having been dismembered, and a close-up on his eye shows all of its retina becoming visible in an instant.

1:22 Bin Laden shoots his tentacle-like tongue at Mondo, and the screen zooms up to the same eye as the tongue pierces him through its socket, and then blacks out when it hits the target and kills him.

1:24 Logo time! The subtitle to this arc is formed from dripping blood on a black screen.

And, stop the song at 1:26!

Probably will stay that way too. With most VG music everyone can hear it's produced with simple synthetic tools, and cheap is the last people want their movies to appear as. There are some video game music writers though who have also written for movies/anime as well (Bill Brown, Ko Otani).
