Feb. 11th, 2010 04:30 amWe got about a foot of snow yesterday. Dad stayed home from work so that he and I could shovel the driveway. Mom came home early from her job, at around noon.

Still playing Pokemon Emerald. Got up to Lucy again, with all three of my Pokemon in perfect health, and lost anyway. Originally, I was planning on spending the Battle Points I saved up on vitamins after I beat each Frontier Brain, but at this point, I think I'm gonna settle for each time I meet up with one.
Y'know, I'd compare this whole thing with the Battle Frontier to half a year ago, when I was playing Getter Love!! almost non-stop. Back then, I at first only strove to win the game. However, after winning the game for the first time, I set my sights for winning with each girl and seeing all their scenes and their high-ranking endings. Once I got Meifa's suki suki ending and all of her scenes, I stopped pursuing her, and focused on everyone else; same with Kiiro, and then Ayumi. And, as we started running out of songs to go with each entry, I played more frantically to win more and more of the girls' scenes and endings before wrapping things up.
I'm playing Pokemon Emerald because I'm feeling compelled to. Right now, I'm settling for just winning Battle Points, but as I get better at it, I'm gonna find myself striving to actually beat each Frontier Brain. Once each Frontier Building is conquered, I'm gonna focus on the ones I didn't clear. And as we get closer to my birthday, I'm probably gonna play even more later on, so as to get as many points in as possible before I receive and start playing Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver.
(Whichever Battle Points I have left over before playing HeartGold or SoulSilver will be spent on either items to be sent over to that game or Diamond, or tutored moves to teach Pokemon that will be migrated to one of the games.)

Date: 2010-02-12 12:06 am (UTC)Oh, if you want to totally defeat the facilities in Emerald, you're going to have to look into EV training. It's a part of competitive battling, which is what I meant when I asked you that a while back (while you said the battling aspect of the game was important to you, your response indicated that you didn't mean competitively - sorry I didn't get back to you on that!). If you want/need any help, let me know.
I asked about breeding for a similar reason, but I'll get into it later if you choose to absorb EV training and you actually want to make a more competitively viable team. I just don't want to confuse you or assume that you want my advice.
