Mondo and Rokuna's BIG Date is now available on Fanfiction.net. I also submitted it to Anime GTS World yesterday, and was told it would be up there on Thursday.

An idea dawned upon me yesterday. Rather than buying a new Super NES and possibly yet more games, I've decided that maybe it's about time I sold all the games I still have for it. I do plan on selling everything I have by the time I get old and die, so that they don't end up being lost, and getting rid of my SNES games now is a good way to have less to worry about in the long run. Besides, I could really use some extra space and money right now.

I've already seen how profitable SNES units are on Ebay, so I should sell mine if it can be fixed up. However, upon looking at each individual game, it turns out that Earthbound has by far the highest profit potential of all my SNES games. I sent Brian an email asking if it's okay if I sell any of the games, and he gave me permission last night.

So, today, I'm going to put all my games up on Ebay individually, hoping that whoever wins Earthbound will also buy any of my other games to get bundled with it. Whichever games I have left over afterwards, I will offer to Jake and Dukeburger, but I'm gonna keep at least one of them to test the SNES with.

Spoke to Mom further about what books to start reading. I told her that I like adventure stories, so she showed me this book called The Lion's Paw. However, I told her I was looking for something that would more involve fighting things. First thing that came to mind was anything along the lines of Eragon, but I understand Chelle doesn't have a positive opinion about those books.

A few minutes later, The Lord of the Rings came to mind. Got lots of fighting, and a lot of characters. We used to have a copy of each book in the trilogy, but after me and Mom looked around for it, it seems that Mom might have donated it at some point. We agreed to pick it up at the library tomorrow.

I'm sure you'll have no problem selling Earthbound for a good price. :)

Chelle:

Oh, didn't know you were into fantasy.

Lords of the Rings has a lot of characters, and I suppose you can pick up things about characterization and roles, but it doesn't do much with developing them. Still, it's amongst the better high fantasy series.

The Inheritance Cycle, The Sword of Truth, The Wheel of Time and Dragonlance are all things that'll only teach you crap.

But anyway, you said that The Lord of the Rings doesn't do much with developing its characters? Hmm... I guess that means I should read anything that you recommend at some point, since you'd know which books focus on character development, and that's what you told me I need to work on.

The focus of Lord of the Rings is telling the story of little people in the middle of chaos, which is why it first follows Frodo instead of Aragorn. They are sufficiently fleshed out for the most part, but many of the lead characters are too old to change much (Aragorn is around 80, Gandalf even older). Frodo's change under the influence of the ring is the clearest case of development, however this is due to a magical influence.
If you're only reading it for character development, then there's better. Otherwise, it is one of the fantasy epitomes, and if you wanna get into that genre always try it. (Personally I didn't finish it and prefer the movies, actually).

Unrelated, I forgot to mention that WLT (mentioned previous entry) does contain sexual connotations throughout the book, but most of the book is a genuine story. Has lots of characters, so if you decide to read it, maybe you could tell me if it actually focuses on development.

We might not have it here, or it might be under a different title. If I do end up reading it, meh, I'll see whether the bother weighs up to what interests me or not.
