Some mistakes I've made recently in Pokemon SoulSilver, that I should remember for when I play HeartGold:
1) Forgot all about the Sinjoh Ruins event that I'm supposed to unlock with Arceus. It was only after I got the Marsh Badge, my second badge in Kanto, that I returned to Johto to take care of this.
(Of course, in Pokemon Pearl, there was lots of stuff to still do in Sinnoh after I beat the Elite Four, before leaving the mainland. In this game, there was so little to do in Johto after the E4 that I could have covered it all in a day.)
2) The captain of the S.S. Aqua gives Arceus plates only on Sundays and Wednesdays going to Kanto, or Mondays and Fridays going to Johto. I initially assumed that it was any day of the week going either way, and then any of those four days going either way.
3) The Safari Zone. Well, I was told that I'm supposed to wait a number of days after placing blocks for additional Pokemon species to appear. However, when I came back, I took a second round to remodel it, and was missing a Larvitar from the Mountain. So, I placed some blocks there, and as I was looking for one, I also managed to capture a Volbeat and a Dusclops.
4) How many bargain sales did I miss when I was right in or near Goldenrod City on a Monday? I went into the tunnel to get my newly acquired Chansey a haircut, and Mondays are the day when both haircut brothers take off.
I think there might be something else I'm forgetting. Oh well.
