Writing this one on my laptop for already mentioned reasons. But anyway, as of yesterday, I am officially done playing Pokemon SoulSilver. These entries are gonna be some of the few that will not have an lj-cut, but they stand out enough anyway for Jake to just skip. (And yes, I know that the boy's name is canonically Ethan, but he was called "Gold" in GSC and "Jimmy" in Legend of Thunder. "Jamie" was the name Jake gave him years before HGSS came out.)

Player: Jamie
Game: SoulSilver

Totodile: The starter Pokemon. Evolved into Croconaw on Route 44, after I chose it to learn HM Strength and fished up a few Pokemon to level it up with. Evolved into Feraligatr during the Elite Four battles, after which I went to Blackthorne City to have it learn Hydro Cannon. Even though I completed a few friendship- and stone-based three-stage evolution cycles in Pearl, this is the first time I've had the same Pokemon evolve twice solely through leveling up (with the exceptions of Caterpie, Weedle, and Wurmple, of course).

Pidgey: Captured at Route 29. Evolved into Pidgeotto on the S.S. Aqua.

Gastly: Captured in Sprout Tower. Would have learned TM 65 (Shadow Claw) if it ever evolved into Haunter.

Togepi: Evolved into Togetic at Route 38.

Goldeen: Captured in Union Cave. Was taught HM Waterfall.

Oddish: Captured in Ilex Forest. Was taught HM Cut. Later on, mated with my Bellsprout, and the resulting Egg hatched into another Bellsprout later on in Goldenrod City, complete with Cut.

Ditto: Captured with a Love Ball on Route 34, because I had no regular balls to capture it with.

Eevee (2): The first, in-game one was evolved into Jolteon. The second one, traded later on after I beat the Elite Four and spent a week at the PokeAthlon, was supposed to become an Espeon, but never got the chance. It also came pre-equipped with Toxic and Iron Tail, and was taught TM 43 (Secret Power). (If this was Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald, I would have used it to establish a Secret Base. And there are only 50 TMs in those games, not counting HMs, as opposed to 92 in each of the Nintendo DS games.)

(I did also receive a Leafeon and a Glaceon, both shiny, from Melissa when I met with her at Starbucks, but I only asked for them because Eevee can only obtain those forms in Sinnoh.)

Nidoran (female): Captured on Route 35. Evolved into Nidorina on Route 15. Would have learned TM 37 (Sandstorm) if it ever evolved into Nidoqueen.

Abra: Captured on Route 35. Can't remember where it evolved into Kadabra, but I was in Blackthorne City when I had Melissa help me evolve it into Alakazam (and helped her evolve her Seadra into Kingdra while we were at it).

Machop: Obtained from Rugged Road. Was taught TM 39 (Rock Tomb).

Horsea: Obtained from Winner's Path, complete with Muddy Water. Was taught TM 91 (Flash Cannon) the following Tuesday. Unfortunately, it lost both those moves when I dropped him off at the Daycare Center, and could not even re-learn them in Blackthorne City. Oh well.

Pikachu: Obtained from Yellow Forest, complete with Surf. (And yes, I specifically sought one that knew either that or Fly. Two more that I caught in the same place afterwards were traded to Diamond for the Shiny Pichu and a Jigglypuff that I downloaded from the Pokemon Fan Event Center). I evolved her into Raichu during the Elite Four battles, after it learned Thunder, her last move.

Qwilfish: Fished up in Route 32, after I got the Good Rod in Olivine City. Was later taught HM Whirlpool.

Shuckle: Obtained from its original owner in Cianwood City. Was taught TM 70 (Flash) later on.

Heracross: Captured on Route 33, and was later taught HM Rock Smash.

Jirachi: Downloaded from a Wi-Fi event right before I started clearing Team Rocket out of the Goldenrod Radio Tower. It stuck around for most of the campaign, and leveled way up throughout (probably somewhere around Level 30).

Shiny Caterpie: Captured during one of the National Park's Bug Catching Contests, after I spent so much time looking for a higher level Butterfree than I had until then. This one raked me in first place, winning me the second of two Sun Stones that could possibly be useful. Done with the Bug-Catching Contests from then until I got the National Dex.

Anyway, this one shortly evolved into Metapod with the aid of the Experience Share, after I beat Fisherman Ralph in a rematch on Route 32. Later on evolved into Butterfree on the S.S. Aqua.

Delibird: I made room specifically for this one, so that I could teach it HM Fly (since, well, it's never gonna learn any new moves on its own).

Magnezone: Traded from Melissa onto Diamond, before being traded over to this game. Was eventually chosen for the Battle Frontier, for which I taught it TMs 25 (Thunder) and 91 (Flash Cannon), and had the Move Re-learner teach it Metal Sound.

Purugly: Captured as a Glameow in Diamond, where it was later taught TM 65 (Shadow Claw). Traded from that game onto this one after a week at the PokeAthlon.

Heatran: Traded from Melissa through Diamond post-PokeAthlon. I was in Goldenrod City when I traded him and many other Pokemon from Diamond, so I was immediately able to buy TM 22 (Solarbeam) for him.

Chikorita: Recieved as a bonus when I traded various Pokemon from the Bulbagarden Trade Center. Came pre-equipped with Cut. Levelled up from 1 straight to 10 after battling a trainer in Vermillion City Gym. Evolved into Bayleef on Route 12, after learning Natural Gift.

Rotom: Took the Mow Forme during my first trip through Saffron City. Levelled up from 1 to 10 during a trainer fight in Saffron City Gym.

Turtwig: Traded from the Bulbagarden Trade Center onto Diamond before I aborted that game. Had come pre-equipped with Strength, Rock Climb, and Seed Bomb. Evolved into Grotle on its first opportunity at Route 14.

Chimchar: Traded from the BGTC onto Diamond before that game was aborted. Pre-equipped with Grass Knot and Shadow Claw. Can't remember where, but this one levelled up from 1 to 11 after its first experiences in battle.

Stunky: Traded straight from Diamond. Was later taught TM 27 (Return).

Regigigas: Traded through Diamond from the BGTC. Was chosen for the Battle Frontier's Hall, and was taught Revenge and Ice Punch by the Move Re-learner just yesterday.

Cranidos: Traded straight from Diamond. Was taught TM 59 (Dragon Pulse) just yesterday.

Rhyhorn: Captured at the Safari Zone. Would have learned HM Waterfall if it ever evolved into Rhydon.

Chansey: Captured at the Safari Zone. Was taught TM 25 (Thunder) when I returned to Goldenrod City.

Dusclops: Captured at the Safari Zone. I evolved it into Dusknoir at the Global Trade Station the morning after I returned from Mt. Silver, then that I had the Reaper Cloth.

Afterwards, it was chosen to participate in the Battle Frontier, for which I taught it TMs 14 (Blizzard), 29 (Psychic) and 30 (Shadow Ball), and had the Move Re-learner teach it Fire Punch. Just yesterday, though, it won the opportunity to learn Pain Split from one of the Battle Frontier Move Tutors, and I forfeited Psychic for that. The other three moves weren't negotiable. Shadow Ball matches its type, Fire Punch had proved very powerful, and Blizzard is an Ice-type move, the only type supereffective against Dragon Pokemon. Psychic never did prove that useful, even against Fighting types. However, whenever I come back to this game and rake in enough more Battle Points, I am going to have it replace Shadow Ball with the more powerful Ominous Wind (another Ghost move).

Palkia: The Pokemon I chose when I brought Arceus to Sinjoh Ruins. Was later taught TM 92 (Trick Room).

Elekid: Obtained from the Suburban Area. Good thing I wasn't able to catch an Electabuzz during both rounds at the post-National Dex Safari Zone, because this one was the last Pokemon I didn't have at the Suburban Area (which also has nothing worthwhile as far as items go). Was taught TM 45 (Attract) upon receival.

Shinx: Captured at Route 46. Evolved into Luxio at Route 14.

Combee: Captured two of these, both at Route 6, mainly because only females (much rarer than males) can evolve into Vespiquen. The second one was the only Pokemon I captured with a Repeat Ball, and evolved on Route 15 and was subsequently taught TM 10 (Hidden Power).

Slakoth: Captured at Route 25. Evolved into Vigoroth after I beat Gary at Viridian City Gym.

Houndour: Obtained from Volcano Path. At one point, I decided that he should evolve after picking him up from the Daycare Center, and had it fight a few rematches and learn Faint Attack before letting it become Houndoom at the National Park.

Snorlax: Captured at Route 11. Already at exactly Level 50, I later on chose him to participate at the Battle Frontier, so I taught him TMs 26 (Earthquake) and 52 (Focus Blast), and had the Move Re-learner teach him Belly Drum and Rest.

Here is a link to the entry where I recorded the trading sequences that had taken place after I completed all five Game Boy Advance games. The entries for those five games, as well as for Red, Crystal, and Pearl, can be accessed from there.

The golem trio: Regirock was migrated from Sapphire. Regice was migrated from Emerald. And Registeel came from LeafGreen after having been initially traded from Sapphire. If you'd like to know, I am planning on selecting one of the golems from Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald each to be migrated onto Diamond, but it is a coincidence that all three of them had been selected to come to this game.

(With that all said, it is likely that the Regice it will be getting will be the one in Sapphire, unless Ruby and/or Emerald get some Pokemon migrated from them first, including that one.)

Aerodactyl: Migrated from LeafGreen. Was yesterday taught Ominous Wind by one of the Battle Frontier Move Tutors, and it didn't even have a full moveset, so no moves had to be overridden first.

Deoxys: Migrated from FireRed. Was taught TM 83 (Natural Gift) right then and there, since I had that one from MooMoo Farm. Just then, quite by coincidence, someone on Route 15 (just west of Fuschia City, where the PAL Park is located) called and asked for a rematch, and I had it use its newly learned move to knock out their Parasect in one hit with a Lum Berry (Air, 60 power). Assumed the Defense Forme on Route 3.

Shuppet: Migrated from Ruby. That's right, it's the same one that I somehow encountered in that game by whatever chance.

Shroomish: Migrated from Sapphire. Evolved into Breloom inside the Bell Tower later on.

Latias: Confronted outside the Pewter Museum of Science, after I showed the Enigma Stone to Steven. Having only two Psychic moves for its damage-dealing moves, she was unable to do a damn thing to my much lower level Murkrow. Still took quite a few Ultra Balls to capture her. (Doesn't that justifies stocking up on them each time I visit a PokeMart! Really. Even though it might seem redundant at that point, it proves worthwhile when you're up against a legendary Pokemon that Just. Doesn't. Want. To be captured!)

Zapdos: Took only two Ultra Balls to capture outside the Kanto Power Plant.

Corsola: Received at the Global Trade Station in exchange for an Exeggcute, which was apparently only used for one PokeWalker session since its capture. This is the Pokemon that unlocked Beyond the Sea on my Walker, which I would have unlocked if my meeting with Melissa at Starbucks hadn't coincided with Abra evolving into Kadabra. Done in order to evolve Dusclops into Dusknoir. (Ironically, Corsola was the only species I still had yet to find on that route until I got it in the trade, so it turned out to be useless.)

Groudon: Was taught TM 20 (Safeguard) after being captured at the Embedded Tower.

Last route unlocked regularly on the PokeWalker: Scary Cave

Final records at Battle Frontier:

Battle Tower: 13
Battle Hall: 44 w/ Regigigas
Battle Factory: 14
Battle Castle: 20
Battle Arcade: 20

Updated 2/23/11:

Burmy: Captured on Route 38. Evolved into a sand-cloaked Wormadam just now, after having participated in my battle against Giovanni.
