Over the past week, I didn't take any time to look over clip #11 of Makeruna! Makendou Z, which was the other clip that Natsue helped me with so far. So instead, I had her look over #1 with me, since I already had a pretty good idea of what everyone was saying in that clip. Just needed to confirm everything, and still have yet to put in the annotations.

Eriko also told me that anyone who was going to translate anything for me would charge $30 for each page (200 words). I told her I'd email her once I had everything uploaded. Gonna have to select some clips from the original set; the new clips will just be there to help them understand the contexts better.

Got the rest of the firewood stacked up for this year.

Here's another attempt at an MCC drabble. Non-explicit sexual innuendoes in the last full paragraph. The situation that Mondo is facing was already mentioned here.

Mondo opened one of the drawers in his desk, and pulled out a binder containing the many sketches that he had drawn since his childhood. Everything he had drawn had been divided into certain sections. Monsters, his friends, cute (or rather, once-cute) girls, and then there were separate sections for Rokuna and himself. He was really glad to have drawn all of these. These were one of his few sources of relief in this depressing version of reality that he was trapped in, a reality where the only people he could recognize as human beings anymore were himself and Kaede, whatever she really was.

He selected the section containing girls other than Rokuna. He had met so many of them during his years. Beginner, a girl with a huge, princess-like dress and large, turquoise pigtails. Elena, the top-notched blonde girl with a distinctive, cute snaggletooth. Kahimi, the pointy-eared elf in a bride-like dress. Kasumi, the busty, pigtailed, chocolate-skinned girl that had a crush on him. Rachael, the blue-eyed, blonde meganekko of the Knights. Attiya, the olive-skinned Pakistani girl of the team. Lei Lei, the twin-braided brunette who was known to have cute little critters such as Seechee pop out from the thin air behind her. Hitomi, the gynoid who had become more and more of a token loli for the group since her adoption into the Hiragi family. And even Gluko, one of the Knights' affably evil teenage rivals, with her extremely long violet hair, perpetually cheerful demeanor, and the biggest breasts he had ever seen during their initial adventures (though Rokuna's had quite outgrown her's with enough time).

And then there was his personal favorite, Anneth Mackenzie. The girl who used to wear braces, brightly colored clothes, and a cute big ribbon. Her hair, kept back by said ribbon but allowed to cascade freely down to her shoulders, was a rich shade of brown, the same color that Midori's was and that Rokuna's would have been if not for her blessing from the gods.

Looks aside, though, the boy also remembered the treats she used to present to her fellow Knights. While he wasn't particularly fond of anything that Rokuna cooked up, he loved everything that Anneth had whipped up for the team. Cookies, brownies, pastries, cake, you name it. He also loved the look on Rokuna's face when she first tried out her sweets, with her eyes closed, her eyebrows up, and her mouth in an itty-bitty smile, all complete with a delighted moan. Just... priceless!

Unfortunately, this was no longer something he was able to genuinely enjoy because of his addled senses, which also made Rokuna's cooking taste only that much worse to him.

Anneth used to be quite the moeblob, he mused wistfully. Now she's just another blob of flesh and tentacles, along with everyone else I've ever known.

"Oh, hi Mondo", Kaede greeted softly as she entered his room just then. "What are those you're looking at?"

"Oh, these?" Mondo responded. "Just pictures of my friends, from when I was a kid. Here, wanna see?" he asked, as he took out several sections from the binder before passing it to her.

While the pics he drew of most of his friends had always remained conservative, those that he drew of Rokuna and himself had become increasingly sexual. Rokuna didn't mind him drawing provocative depictions of her, or even doing anything to her short of actual sex or inflicting pain, and she herself even painted similar pictures of him. They both knew that such desires for that kind of stuff came naturally with being a teenager, and despite common belief, she knew that hormones were no less active in girls than in boys. However, they both promised each other to keep it between themselves, and this was not a promise he intended to break even though she wasn't attractive to him anymore.

"Hmmmm... I see," Kaede said as she continued to look at Mondo's sketches.

Not trying to justify the last part, but this would be interesting to note. Contrasting to Mondo and Rokuna's mutual consent to the drawings mentioned (none of which were described), there's Hiyori's case from Lucky Star. While Mondo drew racy pictures only of his single most intimate friend and drew the line at some point, Hiyori tends to draw outright yuri of her entire circle of friends, and had kept it all a secret from them for some time (becoming utterly embarrassed when said friends had discovered it all).

Chelle:

We see Mondo drawing at two points during the series, he isn't very good at it. It might be darkly funny to add some line that comments on how his drawings look better than reality now.

The second section would be pointless in a story that has previously described already how everyone looks, but for a standalone entry it's okay. The ending is kinda open, what does she mean with that sentence?

The other one was them trying to draw Jahne, but I'm not sure which episode exactly that was.

That's the one yes. With the very long hm followed by I see, she comes across as thinking of something specific.

Hm, I just googled that, turns out that the English word for drawing and that of my native language differ slightly. One puts focus on material, the other on style. Nifty.

That's neat, thanks! I love research on cognitive biases ^_^
