dmxratedBought an Action Replay DS off of Ebay yesterday. At this point, it's pretty safe to assume that there aren't gonna be any more events to come for the Gen IV Pokemon games, certainly not when I finish Diamond and start HeartGold.
When I receive it, I'm going to first try it out with Diamond to hack the Azure Flute and Member Card. On that game, I've got the least stuff to lose, what with having started over already, so I just want to make sure that the AR is safe enough to use, before I even arrange a meeting with Melissa to transfer anything from my Ranger games. Let me note that I would not have considered doing this when I was playing Diamond a year ago, and since I'm going to be hacking the Member Card in that game, the Darkrai I will have in Shadows of Almia will go to HeartGold.
In HeartGold, I'm actually gonna wait until I've beaten the Elite Four in that game, before I hack the PokeWalker Routes that were never distributed. Also, if I can use the A.R. to hack Rescue Kidnapped Riolu in Shadows of Almia, the distributed Riolu will go to that game.
No hacking will take place with Platinum.

It's been just ten years, albeit not down to the day, since the original Pokemon Gold and Silver got released here for the Game Boy Color, and since I got a copy of Silver for Christmas. I was in 9th grade back then, and I've recently been remembering all kinds of stuff that happened during the early half of that year. However, I don't use mere nostalgia as an excuse to play the same game over again, as far as Pokemon games go. There have been times when I would feel good visualizing Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald, but since I have copies of Blue and Silver that haven't been played in so many years, and will have an entire second GBA set at some point after starting HeartGold (along with so much other crap I already have and originally planned to sell eventually), here's what I've come to decide (assuming that I'll start and complete each fic in Parasitic Trio in order):
Blue: Will play after I start Ellen's fic. Will also exploit the Mew glitch while I'm at it, since I already completed Red ages ago.
Silver: To play after I finish Ellen's fic. Since the data for the GS Ball only exists in Crystal (which I already completed), I will not be buying any hacking devices for this game. I will, however, buy a Pokemon Pikachu 2, something which I should have sought before I started playing Crystal.
Ruby/Sapphire (within my second set): Will play after I complete Jamie's fic. Whichever one I play depends on which one has fewer Pokemon and/or whether either of them have any Pokemon from past events. Anything worthwhile will be traded over to one of the other games before restarting. Will not use the GameShark, because only the data for the Eon Ticket exists in these two games, which I can get through the E-Reader. These are also the only two games compatible with the Jirachi disk, which is why I omitted Emerald and FRLG. Come to think of it, maybe I'll also buy Pokemon Colosseum to exploit as well when I play whichever game I play.
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: Will buy a second copy of one of these games after I complete May's fic. If there are any worthwhile Pokemon on them, I will trade them over to one game in my main set before starting a new game. All event items to be hacked. Will migrate six Pokemon from each GBA game in the secondary set when I do the PAL Park.
(And no, I am not gonna replay HeartGold or SoulSilver afterwards. FR/LG? Not sure.)
Black/White: Whichever one I didn't get first, I will buy after completing the Sinnoh fic. Only one game to migrate from. Hacking depends on what never gets distributed.
