Of Secret Bases and Super Contests

Been spending quite a few days decorating my newfound secret base in Pokemon Diamond, and also re-decorating the one I have in Pearl. After having noticed that only the supplementary player's guide lists things you can get after obtaining the National Dex (about 40 more), I guess it's a good thing I aborted last year's playthrough of Diamond.

Here's what I've got so far and what I'm still seeking in each game (not counting things I have but don't intend to place):

Diamond:

-Small Bookshelf

-Vending Machine
-Cupboard
-Blue Crystal (still needs to be placed)
-Munchlax Doll (still needs to be placed)
-Bike Rack
-Smoke Tool
-Red Tent
-Feathery Bed

Still hoping to obtain a Chikorita Doll (post-Elite Four) and an Alert Tool 4. For now, I'm going to have a break from the game altogether (except to get the latter of those two), but I do plan on aiming for a Cute Cup, Beauty Cup, and Tough Cup when I come back.

Pearl:

-Big Table (still need to make room for it)

Still seeking a Happiny Doll and a Flower Tool. Do intend to obtain a Pretty Gem, which requires you to steal three flags, but that can wait for now. And I've been aiming for a Cute Cup yesterday afternoon. More on that in a minute.

Now, about the Super Contests. Tried re-entering my Clefable into the Master Rank Cute Contest. Didn't even come close. After having cultivated some Watmel Berries and having Mewtwo (who happens to like Sweet food) relearn Amnesia and Guard Swap, I almost managed to max his Cuteness out, and as a result, managed to come close to 1st place in the Master Rank more than a few times. Almost. Some people say that it really is rigged so that Jasmine and Johanna always win, but I have noticed a few people who claim to have beaten it. I also did find a comprehensive list on Serebii.net of which accessories will work for each dress-up theme, so maybe that will give me some kind of edge.

Anyway, considering that event-only berries are supposed to be even better for Poffin than those you can obtain in Amity Square, I should have no trouble at all maxing anyone's stats out in Diamond, and then some. I also bought a pack of e-Reader cards on Ebay, mainly for a berry card so that I can harvest some in Ruby and Sapphire to become Enigma Berries when migrated with some Pokemon. Gonna need to ask Brian to bring home his Game Boy Advance when he comes home within the next few weeks, in order to actually use them.

Pokemon aside, Mom took me to a few places after coming home from work yesterday.

First, to Home Depot to pick up leafbags. Not much to say there.

Then went to Bellport. Went to the library there, and I looked around for anime DVDs. Picked out Grrl Power!, DNAngel (disk 1), and .hack//Legend of the Twilight while I looked around. Mom asked me if I think I've picked out enough, and I decided that I might as well settle for those for the time being.

Had a walk from the library parking lot around some neighborhood after we checked everything out.

Upon leaving, we also had to stop at Target to pick up milk and some other stuff, before heading back home.
