dmxratedBeen playing Pokemon Emerald since Monday. Managed to finally beat Lucy at the Battle Frontier. First time I've been able to beat anyone other than Noland, and in fact, she's been the only other Frontier Brain I've even been able to reach, since you only have to challenge the Battle Pike twice (as opposed to three times or more) to get to her.
I gotta say, switching Houndour and Mawile out of my party in favor of Snorlax and Registeel really paid off. Had Snorlax Body Slam her Seviper into oblivion, Covet her Shuckle's Persim Berry, and then use Rest to consume it before switching to Registeel. Had Registeel maximize its Attack and Defense power with Curse, kill Shuckle with Metal Claw, and then use Superpower against Milotic before dying. Back to Snorlax, who Coveted Milotic's Leftovers, and then just Body Slam it to death. And, there you go! I don't think I would've been able to pull anything off with what I originally had.
Well, as good a strategy as the above cut was, I don't think they'd be able to hold up against Lucy's second team, after having read about her online. Bulbapedia says that they'll be at Level 100 when I challenge her again, but given that I play the Lv. 50 challenge, I'm not sure if that's true or not.
Either way, I think I'll switch Snorlax and Registeel back into the PC in exchange for Magnemite and Baltoy. They're both gonna need some serious leveling up, which I'm gonna start by challenging Wattson to a rematch back in Mauville City Gym.
