Courtney had arrived in her car to pick Marie up yesterday.

Overheard a dispute between Mom and Dad while I was having a nap yesterday. The issue in question is that Dad has worked for the past 25 years on making our house look nice, and the image still sucks. Having a lot of useless junk in the house doesn't help either, and there's also the fact that he's barely able to make any money these days.
In response, I took care of the wash, put my clothes in their respective drawers (usually, I just let them sit stacked on a chair until Mom tells me to deal with it), started a new load of wash, swept the part of the driveway around the front steps (and also the front steps themselves and the stairs to the basement), and raked and mowed some leaves in the frontyard. All that to make them feel better, and also because things would've been too tense for me to bother playing Mother 3. On her part, Mom had me help her pack a few things into the trunk of her car, and also had me throw out the computer chair rug (which to this day has only created some kind of dust underneath it which is harder to vacuum than most else).
Later in the evening, I went with Mom to Target, just to be doing anything at all. On the way there, she told me that while she does appreciate everything I do around this household, it isn't my fault if she and Dad get into an argument.
