dmxratedMarie brought her little bobblekitty with her on the way to New Jersey yesterday. Watching it bob its head back and forth was enough to keep me busy for until we reached New York City, before I started reading Lucky Star. Right before we arrived at Uncle Robby's house, me, Mom, and Marie tried thinking up a name for it. Mom suggested Sasha, but I suggested a bunch of Japanese female names (including Yumi), before getting a better idea and suggesting Piro (after the initially stray cat from Kanon).
Had some chocolates and a bagel after we arrived at the house, and then read the rest of volume 1 and part of volume 2 of Lucky Star. Cousin Dennis was also there with us on one of his rare breaks from the Marines, along with Uncle Robby, Cousin Adam, Grandma Ella, and Grandpa Bob. Cousin Steven also came back to the house not long after we arrived, and he has a new girlfriend named... Jordan.
Got a total of $90 in cash (along with a few Christmas cards) from Uncle Robby, Grandpa Bob, and Grandma Ella.
All ate dinner together. After we finished, Grandma Ella gave me, Brian, Marie, and Cousins Dennis and Steven (and possibly Cousin Adam) each a double-picture containing a photo taken each in what we deduced to be 1995 and 2005. (Would've taken a picture of it to host here when we got home, but it was already 10:00 at that point. I'll be sure to show it on tomorrow's entry, though, if it doesn't end up anywhere else first.)
Grandma Ella came home with us, and will be spending some time here. Shortly after we left the house, Mom had to stop at a nearby gas station to get her battery jumped. Brian went out to ask around, and we got help from four guys who seemed to be in their early 20's like us. According to Brian, they had once been in the same situation before on some trip, so they were repaying the favor.
Got a bunch of messages by the time I got home: Two notes from Chelle about a critique, one note from DeviantArt member AnimeFayInc about a commission, one comment in Job Offers advertising a contest (for which I suggested the person offer a lot more than up to five points), one person who left Job Offers, another who put JO on their DeviantWatch, and yet another LiveJournal PM from Lance about the MMZ dubbing project. I would check my messages again right now after having woken up and eaten breakfast, but Marie is sleeping on the futon right now, and I'm gonna wait for her to wake up. (Can't access SuffolkWeb on my laptop, and I don't want to sign out of my spare dA account and log in w/ my regular account too often, lest anyone delete the former as well if the latter gets deleted sometime.)
