I read the first entry of Rokumon Sekai the other day. Adalia Glenys, the owner of that community, did say "I'm just a sucker for an angsty bishounen." I'm so grateful I brought up Grandia II in my last conversation with her, because that's exactly what Ryudo is. Actually, that wasn't even the original reason I recommended it to her. I brought it up mainly because of the boss themes and the battle system.

Warning: This link contains spoilers!

Ryudo, the main character, and Melfice, his older brother, were orphans raised by the chief of the Village of Garlan. Where they lived during their childhood, it was a necessity to become skilled with a sword. Melfice was the best swordsmen in the entire village, so the rest of the villagers depended on him to protect them. One day, when disaster struck, he and some other swordsmen were sent to Grail Mountain nearby to investigate. During his trip, he sacrificed Reena, his own girlfriend, and stole a sacred idol to become even more powerful. Because of his actions, both he and Ryudo were exiled from Garlan. Subsequently, Ryudo had no choice but to become a geohound (mercenary), which is a bad thing because no one likes a geohound. That is evident right before the game begins and during Ryudo's first meeting with Elena, and even more so if you go out of your way to talk to the people of Carbo Village.

Adalia, I'm assuming you're going to read this at some point. The reason I posted that here instead of emailing you was because I didn't want to push you, in which case, you might have said "Fine, I'll give it a try." It's still your choice. By the way, I said yes when you asked me if I meant the fight system was real time. What I meant was that even though battles and the field are separate, everyone can act simultaneously unless someone's casting a spell.

Finally, someone explain to me what "Music" is all about in the heading. As you know, this is the first time I ever wrote something for it. My sister told me it's what song the writer is listening to, but does "in your head" count? I normally don't listen to anything while typing (or when I'm doing anything else, for that matter), but that final boss track from Contra: Hard Corps is just mad awesome.
