Jul. 29th, 2012 05:21 amGot both that Nintendo Power magazine and the Mega Man Anniversary Collection yesterday. Still have yet to take those pictures that Jake wants.
Been playing Mega Man almost non-stop (and it also helps that yesterday was extremely rainy). Even though each boss is weak to a particular weapon, I usually choose stages by rolling a die. However, as it turns out, whereas all the other initial bosses have a pattern to exploit, Elec Man is absolutely impossible without the Rolling Cutter. In Silver Surfer, all stages are equally hard, and I never did get to any of the bosses (given how little I even actually played the game either time that I downloaded it); in Super Mario Land 2, the difficulty varies between each regular zone, but without any power-ups, at least the game actually lets you beat them in any order you want; but here, the Plasma Buster simply isn't sufficient to kill Elec Man with. I also understand that Mega Man X is next to impossible if you don't start in Chill Penguin's stage where you can get the Foot Parts. Even then, though, I'd still pick stages on a die roll, because what's the point of being able to choose the order of which stages you beat if they're arranged for you to beat them in a particular order? (I'm assuming it's supposed to be a guessing game as to whose weapon will be able to take on who, right?)

The four of us watched the end of Amadeus. Shortly before the movie ended, it just went black, and we assumed that either whoever had the remote pressed something or the disk was bad. After fast-forwarding back through the scene in question, it went black again, so I brought the disk into the bathroom to wipe it down. Turns out that you're actually supposed to flip it over, just like with a cassette tape. However, since there wasn't that much left on side B, why couldn't whoever copied the movie to DVD just have it stop halfway through on side A, instead of towards the end?
While we were watching the movie, Marie had hidden this remote-controlled audio toy under the couch, to make farting noises with. The whole time, we thought Marie had gas from dinner (we had salmon, although I just had some rice and tomato salad since I don't like fish). Before the movie ended, the noises stopped, but then started up again right before the credits. Shortly after it ended, I heard it coming from under the couch, and found it underneath after checking under the cushions. I turned it off, and so the fun stopped before we all went to bed.
