Dec. 29th, 2012 08:31 amWent to Bobbique with Brian, Janine, and Marie last night. On the way there, we passed right by Dad, who was obviously coming home from work for the night.
We also noticed these color-changing lights on the front of the Jesus Is Lord Church, indicating some kind of party going on there. We then remembered the days when we used to go to Sunday school at the Yaphank Presbyterian Church every week, throughout the year I had been in 7th grade. Brian remembered when I used to emphasize the words "Hell" and "ass" while we were reciting something. I asked if he or Marie remembered that Christmas pageant that we had been part of (December 20, 1998), in which my part was explaining the tale of Babushka, the Russian equivalent to Santa Claus.
Brian also remembered a bunch of jokes that Pastor Ralph used to tell, but I told him that all I remember (aside from summer camp and Bible school, which took place at the same place) was watching him drone on and on for an hour each Sunday, and then staying upstairs with a few of the older kids to listen to him some more. All the little kids went into the basement to do arts and crafts, but I mentioned that even that wouldn't have been much better, seeing that video games were the only thing I really cared about at the time. Brian then replied that he was the same way as a kid, and that he used to feel the same way about soccer. I then mentioned that both of us used to play piano as well, but neither of us had any passion for it, and we both stopped at different points in life.
-----
Ordered a burger with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and a pickle, with a side dish of macaroni and cheese. Not much to say about our time actually there. Brian, Marie, and Janine just kinda talked amongst one another about stuff, while I couldn't help but pay attention to some lady playing various songs on an acoustic guitar.
