Just tested a free trial today, of Wondershare Video Converter, which Brian downloaded the other day. It works, but left the video clip I converted with the Wondershare logo in the middle. The real thing costs $60, so converting all my Mon Colle Knights videos to a format compatible with Windows Movie Maker can wait till another day, when I have more money in the bank.
In the meantime, since I'm not up to doing anything more this afternoon, here I go with a possible Starbound passage, since Jake's been having some ideas involving a certain restaurant chain he seemingly just found out about. For clarification, the party has returned to Japan after having regrouped from a forced separation, and is currently spending some time at Konata's house with the main characters' friends from school. Also, to avoid confusion, you'll know who the other party members are if you've read my entry's cut from the 4th.
Say, Patty-chan," said Konata. "Did you know this girl named Desiré Garcia back in America?"
"Wait, you met her, of all people!?" said Patricia, clearly surprised.
"Me, Daví-kun, and Miyuki-san met her at this place called Hooters, known for big-breasted teenage waitresses. More on this soon, but me and Miyuki tried to apply there. They wouldn't hire me 'cause I'm flat, but they were sure quick to hire Miyuki. Man, seeing her having to talk and act sexy as part of her job just looked pretty stupid."
"It was awkward, indeed," said Miyuki.
"Kinda like you that one time you impersonated Marimite," said Kagami.
"Who's Marimite?" asked Nursen.
"From what Kona-chan told me, it's short for 'Maria-sama ga Miteiru'," said Tsukasa
"Apparently, everyone in that show talks in some weird voice like 'Well well, how do you do?' and laughs like 'Ohhhh-hohohoho'," said Kagami. "It was sure as painful to listen to her talking like that as it sounds."
"Actually, she spoke that way to Miyuki in homeroom that day, and she didn't even seem to notice," said Tsukasa.
"You didn't notice that!?" said Kagami to the pink-haired girl. "No one greets one another with a how-do-you-do. Except for Patricia, when we first met her."
"Well, it is customary to greet each other with a how-do-you-do in the all-girls school my friends go to," she said, embarrassed.
"Seriously, Miyuki. I guess it never occurred to you either that out of all of us, you're one of the few who never uses the word 'totally'."
"Actually, I don't either," said Ayano.
"Come to think of it, I can't seem to recall using that word myself," said Minami.
"I hope you don't write fanfiction," said Maria. "I would hate to read something where anyone talks so uncharacteristically as you'd probably write them."
"It's not that, really!" said Miyuki. "I actually did notice; it just wasn't as awkward for me to hear as it was for you."
"Whatever," said Kagami. "More importantly, what the hell were you two and Daví doing trying to apply for jobs there instead of looking for the rest of us."
"That place was actually a cover-up for some kind of factory belonging to the aliens," said Rokuna. "Claire-chan and I found out when we met up with them. The manager was actually a Starman in disguise."
"Err, you're kidding," said Patricia. "Was it really something like that?"
"Kinda like the Rocket Game Corner in Pokemon," said Konata.
Depending on whether they travel back to Japan directly from Long Island or somewhere else, they might or might not bring Desiré along with them just to meet their friends and families. Either way, I don't plan on her becoming a long-term party member, hived or not, though I might change my mind on that at some point.
