Two days ago, Mom found a bunch of black swallowtail caterpillars in her garden, and put them into a jar with some dirt and parsley leaves. We've been keeping them inside the house to watch them, and are waiting for them to form cocoons before becoming butterflies.

I'd recommend adding some diagonally places branches, which is easier than glass or leaves to attach to in the proper position. Also, if the air in your house is particularly dry there's a risk they dry out, so adding a small layer of water to the bottom once the cocoons are there might help.

Yeah. Mom has put a few sticks inside the jar, and we've been keeping it inside the shower for all of today. I'll email you a pic right now.
