Last week was 9/11, the day I was supposed to host the exchanges I had with Chelle more than a year ago re: Monster Collection Chronicles, since part II was heavily going to involve that. Instead, my laptop gradually broke down, and it's too late to bother with the entry now.

I started using my new PC the following day, but now I've got this issue with LiveJournal not letting me select a userpic when I write a new entry. I complained to the staff, but only got one response from them stating that they were unable to duplicate the problem. Apparently, neither Jake nor Chelle has this issue, and Brian even suggested that I see if I can change userpics on existing entries. Well, at least that works, but I don't get how there could be a problem with this household that disables me from just doing it on my PC, Dad's PC, and even Brian's laptop when no one else is experiencing such a thing.

Today, Brian and I are planning to go to Apple at the Smithhaven Mall to get my laptop fixed. I'm gonna ask whoever's there what the deal might be as long as we're there.

Haven't played Rockman & Forte at all ever since my laptop broke down, since that's the only thing I have it on. Been playing Candy Crush obsessively, since Mom had enabled me to access her Facebook account in order to keep supplying myself with extra lives instead of waiting every half hour. Then again, the whole point of playing R&F in the first place was to pass time while I await Chelle's critique of what's now the first half of Starbound, chapter 3.

As of today, I'm planning on starting my recording of Makeruna! Makendou Z, something which I wasn't up for right after "completing" chapter 3 of Starbound and still don't want to do but have to. I also promised Jake a scene from Starbound, in which at least one of the girls tease Davi in a sexual manner. I've decided which girl is involved (that being Konata) and what she'll do, but am having trouble deciding how to start it off.

Also agreed with Jake to have him ghostwrite each chapter of Starbound for $2 per page, after he expressed trouble pulling through with it due to my own insufficient writing style, which keeps sucking no matter how much I learn from Chelle.

The ghost writing thing is a good idea; I don't think you can improve on style if you don't observe styles, which you yourself said you're not very interested in.

I don't think I said that per se. What I meant to say was that it's usually the final product that matters most to me. I do enjoy improving my writing style little by little, such as thinking about how one would say something and being sure to show emotion in any given situation.

Anyway, would you be interested in reading Jake's version of each chapter, or should I just post those once I proofread them and tweak them as I see fit?

I was referring to the "read lots" thing, observing different styles is one of the things that does.

Depends on whether anything changes in the events or character that would reflect on later chapters that I'd need to know about for beta-reading. Otherwise, I might still give it a read, but later.

So, if the gist of each chapter remains the same, then don't bother? Okay, then.

Or, since I did mention changes I made to the existing two in the third one's author's notes, should I show those to you as well once they're rewritten?

It would be kinda redundant for me to beta-read if all that changes is an update to the style, right? Most I focus on beta-reading is logic related.

That kinda changes are relevant to know if they're stuff that'll affect/be referenced in future chapters.

For example, Rokuna didn't originally have anything on her that couldn't be concealed, and Yutaka wasn't present at all in the second chapter. Rokuna's bokken was added in because I thought it would only make sense if Ichirobei had trained her her whole life how to fight if they were to prepare for what was to come; with the latter, it wouldn't make sense for Miki, Inori, and Matsuri to send Yutaka back home, since they obviously wouldn't have known at any point that it was safe back there again.

(Won't bore you with purely aesthetic changes, such as changing the random teacher to the manga-exclusive Fuyuki Amahara during Miyuki's scene in the girls' room.)

Yeah, that's actually relevant changes. Rokuna being that prepared is something that'll affect future chapters too, for example, since she'll try to be similarly extra-prepared in other scenarios, and may even have trouble dealing with unprepared scenarios.
