Two days ago, one of Marie's classes watched Disney's Aladdin, and her teacher pointed out some of the Arab stereotypes used. For example, that guy who sings the opening song has something called a huca (did I spell that right? It's something that you put powdered drug substances into to breathe from) which doubles into a coffee maker and something else. She told Mom about it, and Mom told her that Dad has one of those in the attic. Someone brought it from Morocco, and gave it to him sometime before we were born. Marie couldn't believe that Dad would keep such a thing, but Mom brought it down for all of us to have a look at.
During that same day, we also had to go to New Jersey for Adam's communion. Dad didn't want to go, but Grandma Ella came with us. It actually took place the next morning (which was yesterday). I tried to call McDonald's to let someone know that I wouldn't be able to come for Saturday this weekend, but it was busy before we left and when we got to Uncle Robby's, but I got through to Tiffany when I woke up the next morning.
When we got to the house, Aunt Allison, Cousin Steven, and Grandpa Bob were already there, and I greeted everyone there before going to bed. A few minutes after I started sleeping, though, Marie woke me up to join everyone else, who was watching Uncle Robby light fireworks.
After the Communion ended the following morning, we still had to wait around for Adam, and then have a whole bunch of pictures taken. Then, we went to some diner to eat breakfast. I ordered three pigs in blankets and an eclair, along with a French vanilla milkshake as my beverage. Those pigs/sausages tasted terrible, but I ate them anyway. The pancakes they were wrapped in were okay once coated in two containers of syrup. I didn't eat the third pancake, and only ate half of my eclair, and I was so full that it was hard and painful for me to defecate before we got back in the car.
Yesterday, I was so exhausted when we got home from sitting in the car for hours, that I decided to have the day off from studying. In fact, when we first got home, I had a nap for almost three whole hours.
